NWSL ’23 Is On-The-Air: All 176 Matches Available To A Global Audience

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

UPDATED March 23, 2023:
The National Women’s Soccer League and Endeavor Streaming today unveiled a partnership to launch a global streaming service for viewers outside of the U.S. for the 2023 season that will make matches available free of charge for fans globally on NWSLSoccer.com.

The NWSL has also signed two streaming deals with international distributors DAZN and Tigo, securing additional access to live NWSL matches for audiences across more than 25 countries around the world.

The agreement marks the first time the NWSL has launched its own global streaming offering for viewers outside of the U.S.

March 15, 2023: With Opening Day less than two weeks out, the National Women’s Soccer League today unveiled the full TV and streaming schedule for the 2023 season, anchored by all 176 matches available to a global audience through a variety of viewer platforms.

The 2023 season is scheduled to begin March 25 with opening weekend for the league’s 11th campaign with all 12 teams in action.

The season culminates with the 2023 Ally NWSL Championship Presented by CarMax, scheduled for Nov. 11.

Ally Financial, the NWSL’s official banking partner, will serve as the title sponsor of all matches across CBS Sports platforms.

“In this ever-changing media landscape, multi-platform coverage is key to ensuring the NWSL’s sustained growth and exposure in the U.S. and abroad,” NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman said via the league.

“We are proud to once again make all 176 matches available to our global audience through a variety of viewership platforms.”

CBS Sports’ multi-platform coverage, presented by CarMax, will include all 176 NWSL matches this season.

The CBS Television Network will air six matches, including both the broadcast of the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup Final and the 2023 Ally NWSL Championship Presented by CarMax.

Paramount+, Paramount Global’s subscription streaming service, will also stream those six matches live.

CBS Sports Network will air 23 matches across the regular season, playoffs and the Challenge Cup.

Paramount+ will exclusively stream all additional NWSL matches live in the U.S, with a select number of those matches also streaming live on the CBS Sports Golazo Network, which launches on Tuesday, April 11.

As part of its exclusive coverage this season, Paramount+ will stream all six matches on the final day of the regular season as part of the league’s first Decision Day.

All 2023 regular season and Challenge Cup matches will be streamed live internationally for free on NWSLSoccer.com.

Match replays, highlights and additional NWSL produced content will also be available on NWSLSoccer.com.

Additional international distribution information will be released prior to season kickoff.

Last week, the NWSL unveiled a partnership with Canadian sports broadcaster TSN to distribute NWSL matches, including the 2023 NWSL Championship, across its network in Canada this season.

In total, TSN and TSN+ will stream over 70 matches throughout the 2023 season.

NWSL players and teams this season will also be part of EA Sports FIFA 23.

“We have also made a number of enhancements to our broadcast production, from headcount to equipment to on-air talent, and we are excited to provide an improved viewing experience that matches the quality of play on the pitch this season,” said Berman.

“We look forward to delivering all the excitement of the 2023 season culminating in another exciting championship match in prime time thanks to our partners at CBS Sports and Ally.”
