• The Cleveland Browns have been named as the team to be featured in HBO’s 2018 series Hard Knocks. The Browns were 0-16 last season and then selected QB Baker Mayfield with the overall No. 1 pick. This year’s series is schedule to debut Aug. 7.

• The Alliance of American Football named Alliance Salt Lake City as its fourth market (Atlanta, Memphis, Orlando) and Dennis Erickson as the team’s head coach. Alliance Salt Lake home games will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium, home to University of Utah football. Phoenix is expected to be named the fifth city today.

• For the third year, NFL partner Hyundai is hosting the Hyundai Youth Football Camp giving children ages 7 to 13 the chance to take the field and learn from their favorite teams and players. Sessions will be held in Pittsburgh, South Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Los Angeles, the New York City area and Houston.

Burger King Tag Teams With WWE, Target For Promo Starring Triple H, John Cena

August 16, 2010: World Wrestling Entertainment said it has signed a deal with Burger King for an in-restaurant promotion that will feature three of WWE's biggest stars: Triple H, John Cena and Undertaker. The alliance also includes activation with national retailer Target and Mattel and national marketing support.

Beginning Aug. 23, nearly 7,000 Burger King locations nationwide will offer plush toys inside BK Kids Meals featuring one of its three superstars. The promotion is scheduled to run through Sept. 12.

Marketing will be anchored by TV spots featuring the WWE players on such networks as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney XD. Support also includes Internet, POP via BK Kids Meal packaging and merchandise displays and a $2-off coupon at Target stores for WWE Mattel FlexForce action figures. The FlexForce line, which was unveiled in July at the Comic-Con Convention in San Diego, is being supported with its own national marketing for what the WWE is calling "the greatest WWE action figures in the history of the WWE Universe."

According to Burger King, the plush toys will play the individual catch phrases or entrance music of the respective WWE stars.  A new item will be available each week during the three-week U.S. promotion.

“WWE is very excited to team with Burger King, a globally recognized brand that reaches millions around the world,” Michelle Wilson, WWE evp-marketing, said in a statement. “WWE’s family friendly product, which is seen in 145 countries, is a great fit with the Burger King brand.”
