• Manchester United has signed a multi-year deal with Marriott International, with multi-platform marketing including access to on-field & player experiences for 120M members of the Marriott BonVoy travel program.

• PepsiCo is acquiring the CytoSport supplements brand from Hormel, which includes the Muscle Milk line.

• MLS Los Angeles Galaxy has signed a deal naming Mescal El Silencio, a specially crafted mezcal label based in Los Angeles, as an official partner for the team and its venue, Dignity Health Sports Park. The alliance, being called the first mescal deal for a pro sports team, includes a Mezcaleria El Silencio bar on the main concourse.

• MLS FC Dallas has signed a pact naming Heineken as the official import beer for the club and Toyota Stadium. The alliance also make Heineken USA a founding partner for the National Soccer Hall of Fame, which recently opened in Toyota Stadium.

• Lisa Borders, who in October resigned from her position as president for the WNBA to become president and CEO for Time’s Up, has now resigned from that position, citing family situations.

Bose, New Era, Snickers Sweeten Sponsor Roster For Madden NFL 19 Championship

EA has enhanced the Madden NFL 19 Championship Series, adding Bose, New Era Cap and Snickers as official sponsors.

The brands, also partners with the NFL, will integrate into Madden NFL 19 Championship Series broadcasts to “increase exposure with digitally-native NFL and eSports fans.”

The Madden NFL 19 Club Championship is scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 2, timed to coincide with Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

People can watch the Championship round live on ESPNews (with re-airs on ESPN2) as well as live on Twitch, YouTube, Mixer and Facebook.

According to EA, Bose, New Era Cap and Snickers will be “authentically embedded into Madden NFL Championship Series broadcasts in a similar way to how they’re integrated into NFL telecasts, including commercials, highlight integrations, on-air product placement and additional shoulder programming.

“This authenticity gives long-standing NFL brands a turnkey way to elevate their traditional sports affiliation through eSports exposure, helping reach new highly engaged fans.”

The Madden NFL 19 Club Championship contains the largest individual tournament prize-pool in Madden NFL’s 30-year history — $700,000,

As the official sound of the Madden NFL 19 Championship Series, all competitors will wear the Bose QC35 II Noise Cancellation Headphones.

New Era receives product usage placement with their new Home-and-Away Collection, part of the overarching NFL Sideline Collection that be on full display.

Snickers builds on their current “Most Satisfying” NFL messaging with a segment series that will culminate with a Madden NFL Championship Series “Moment of the Year.”

“For Snickers, this is a natural and authentic extension of our NFL sponsorship as Madden competitive gaming broadcasts are nearly identical to the traditional sports experience,” Jess Donato, senior associate brand manager, Snickers Brand and Sponsorships, said via the brand.

“Fan engagement is a top priority for our brand, and this partnership gives us a direct way to reach a passionate and engaged audience that is unparalleled in the space.”

According to Austin LaBoda, digital media specialist, Digital Marketing for New Era Cap,. “This competitive gaming initiative draws a hyper-engaged group of fans and provides us with a new way to showcase our authenticity as the official sideline cap of the NFL.”

Echoed Kyle Graham, Bose global brand partnerships. “Given our NFL sponsorship, this is a natural integration of our product and brand.”
