July 8, 2010: With the WNBA All-Star Game coming on July 10, the league has released the latest list of the most popular player jerseys and team merchandise. Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker tops the WNBA’s list of most popular jerseys, a spot she has held since October 2008.
This list is based on sales at the NBA Store in New York City and WNBAStore.com from October 2009 through June 2010. Specific sales figures were not disclosed. Adidas is entering its fourth season as the official oncourt uniform and apparel provider for the WNBA.
According to the WNBA, Parker’s jersey is the best selling jersey in the history of both the NBA Store and WNBAStore.com. The Sparks also had the best-selling merchandise.
The New York Liberty have four players among the top ten best selling jerseys, including Shameka Christon, who was traded to the Chicago Sky in March. Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry made her debut on the list at No. 10.
