• Puma, which is rebooting its hoops division with the signing of potential top NBA draft picks Deandre Jordan and Michael Bagley III to shoe deals, said it has named producer/musician/businessman Jay-Z as president of basketball operations. The company said it has been working with Jay-Z run Roc Nation “for quite some time.” In addition, Hall of Famer Walt "Clyde" Frazier, a Puma partner for its first signature shoe in the 1970’s and long-time endorser, has signed a lifetime contract with the shoe brand.

• Panini America has signed an exclusive autograph trading card memorabilia agreement with All-American point guard Trae Young, a projected Top Ten pick in this week's 2018 NBA Draft. Young led the nation in both scoring (27.4 ppg) and assists (8.8 apg) during a his freshman season with the University of Oklahoma.

• Xyience said it would be an official sponsor and the official energy drink for the 2018 International Champions Cup presented by Heineken, a premier  occer tournament featuring top clubs and players from Europe. The ICC runs from July 20- Aug. 7 and includes 17 matches played across 14 U.S. cities. (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and SiriusXM.) Sponsors also  include Heineken, Ally, Hertz, MasterCard, Gatorade, Konami and Vivid Seats.

D-Wade Shoots To Score With Mission x Wade Compression Collection, Marketing

November 8, 2017: In his first national effort since joining the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent, Dwyane Wade and performance apparel and accessories brand Mission are unveiling the Mission x Wade Collection.

The limited-edition Mission x Wade Collection will include seven pieces — among them compression tops, tights and arm sleeves — featuring Mission’s VaporActive powered by 37.5 technology.

In a reference to one of Wade’s nicknames, the collection was introduced by a spot, “Flash Your Move,” in which D-Wade puts some of the compression apparel through the test on a basketball court.

“Darkness exists, but only in your absence,” says Wade. “Make your mark. Illuminate. Flash your move.”

Support includes Internet and social media.

Mission said that Wade, a co-founder, product developer and user of its instant cooling accessories since the brand's founding in 2009, “worked closely to develop this collection. (We) entrusted Wade and his team to think beyond limits and really hone what the stylish athlete demands.”

"Our partnership with Dwyane has been an enjoyable one since the very beginning,” Josh Shaw, Mission founder and CEO, said in a statement.

“He understands how the body works and the importance of apparel and accessories that help maintain an optimum temperature to enable peak performance."

In addition, said Shaw, “Dwyane is one of the best dressed men off the court. For his first collection, we wanted to marry our science with his unique style and offer the market something they've never seen before in the compression space."

Wade, a three-time champion now in his 15th NBA season, also has deals that include Li-Ning, Gatorade, Hublot and Stance.

According to Wade, ”Compression wear has always lacked substance and style. For my first capsule collection with the brand, I wanted to blend Mission’s high-performance technology with my personal style to create fresh and innovative designs."

"I am excited to share my new collection, which meets the performance and style needs of athletes by making them feel and look their best. Style is how you express yourself and the collection, featuring reflective and non-reflective pieces, express my bold and creative approach to fashion,” said Wade.
