Danica Patrick Taking Her Fans For A Ride

August 12, 2009: Danica Patrick wants to take some of her fans for a ride, and AirTran Airways will pick up the tab. Patrick, who drives in the IndyCar Series for Andretti Green Racing, will take seven fans and their guests around the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Oct. 2 as part of a promotion for AirTran Airways A+ Rewards program. AirTran is a marketing partner of Patrick.

From now until Sept. 1, participants can register at http://www.airtran.com/danica, using their AirTran Airways A+ Rewards frequent flyer number. Visitors who are not part of the program can register to become AirTran frequent flyer members there, as well. Winners will be chosen on Sept. 8.

Winners will also receive two roundtrip flights on AirTran Airways, a $100 Hertz certificate, lunch and one night of hotel accommodations, according to AirTran. "AirTran Airways offers air travelers the thrill of everyday low fares, but we're fueling even more excitement by offering racing fans the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet one of the biggest stars in the sport," Tad Hutcheson, vp-marketing and sales, for AirTran Airways, said in a statement. "In addition to meeting Danica Patrick, winners will be close to the action and experience what it's really like on the track during a race."

Patrick's sponsors also include Tissot, Samsonite, Peak, Keenon, GoDaddy, Boost Mobile and Troy Lee Designs.
