• The NBA London Game 2019 will feature a regular-season game between the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks in The O2 on Thursday, Jan. 17. Marketing partners include Foot Locker, Gatorade, Nike, SAP and Tissot, with additional partners to be unveiled in the coming months.

• The Denver Broncos home field is getting a temporary name change to Broncos Stadium at Mile High. (It) does not reflect our brand or our values and we are taking steps to ensure this type of activity does not happen again.”

• The PGA TOUR has signed a deal with Facebook to distribute exclusive Saturday and Sunday live competition coverage, on a free basis, from eight tournaments leading into the FedExCup Playoffs for the 2017-18 season. Airing on Facebook Watch in the U.S., coverage begins at the Travelers Championship on June 23-24. Other events in 2018 include: Quicken Loans National; A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier; John Deere Classic; RBC Canadian Open; World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational; Wyndham Championship; and The Northern Trust.

DHL Takes Lead Position In Premiere DR1 Drone Racing Championship Series

August 8, 2017: Global logistics provider DHL, already a player on the drone racing landscape, is taking a larger role by signing a deal to become the premiere title sponsor for a new racing competition: DR1 presents the DHL Champions Series, Fueled by Mountain Dew.

The racing championship is organized by DR1 Racing, the drone racing organization that unites top pilots and racing teams to compete at locations and on courses worldwide.

DR1 presents the DHL Champions Series, Fueled by Mountain Dew races will be broadcast and streamed online globally this October and November by Eurosport, Fox Sports Asia and Twitch.TV, "potentially reaching more than 300 million homes."

DHL has already been involved with DR1, including events utilizing its headquarters, the Post Tower in Bonn, Germany.

Financial terms were not shared.

The news came with multi-media marketing, including a DR1 presents the DHL Champions Series, Fueled by Mountain Dew intro spot on Internet and social media.

"This new racing series is an exciting opportunity for DHL to showcase our passion for drone racing and illustrate our extensive history in developing innovative and sustainable approaches towards future logistics solutions," Ken Allen, CEO for DHL Express, said in a statement.

"Similar to Formula E, drone racing represents an exciting new e-racing series, which is why DHL took the opportunity to engage as the logistics partner and title sponsor for DR1’s premier league racing series."

Joining DHL and Mountain Dew as sponsors of the Champions Series are Air Hogs, makers of the official DR1 Micro Race Drone and FPV Race Drone; and the U.S. Army, which is sponsoring DR1’s Twitch Channel program, DR1 Drone Tech, which airs before each race.

The Race 1 course is scheduled for the Trona Pinnacles, Race 2 Mojave Boneyard, Race 3 DHL Tower, Race 4 Spike Island, Race 5 Bunowen Castle and the Championship Race Isle of Man.

According to DR1 CEO and founder Brad Foxhoven, "We are thrilled to have DHL join the DR1 organization as the title sponsor for the DHL Champions Series Fueled by Mountain Dew.

"Along with Mountain Dew, (which) has been with us since our first race last year, we have established a racing series that combines epic outdoor racing, elite pilots and racing teams, and a racing format that creates excitement and engagement for the pilots, viewers and spectators," said Foxhoven.

Separately, the Drone Racing League has also been driving interest and attracting sponsors, including Allianz, Disney XD, Bud Light, Swatch, the U.S. Air Force and media partners ESPN and Sky Sports.
