Ohtani, Dodgers Capture Most Popular Jersey Title To Open 2025 Season

That has happened to Freddie Freeman, whose slam to win Game 1 of the 2024 World Series drove the Los Angeles Dodgers to the championship.
Freeman’s Dodgers jersey is the No. 2 best-selling jersey entering the 2025 MLB season, trailing only teammate and reigning NL MVP Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani also finished 2024 with the most popular player jersey in MLB for the season.
Freeeman’s jersey was No. 18 for the 2024 season.
The Dodgers have a MLB-leading six payers among the Top 20, also including Mookie Betts at No. 4, Yoshinobu Yamamoto at No. 10, Clayton Kershaw at No. 11 and Kiké Hernández at No. 16.
This list accounts for sales of Nike jerseys from the Fanatics network of sites, including MLBShop.com, since the culmination of the 2024 World Series presented by Capital One.
Juan Soto, now in his first season with the New York Mets, is No. 3 overall, first time in his career that his jersey is in the Top Three league-wide, according to MLB.
New York Yankees and reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge rounds out the Top Five.
With Ohtani’s jersey at No. 1 and Yamamoto’s at No. 10, this is just the second time that two Japanese-born players rank in the Top 10 most popular player jerseys (Ichiro Suzuki and Yu Darvish in 2012).
At. No. 15, Paul Skenes’ first appearance on this list also marks the first time a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates has ranked among the 20 most popular player jerseys since Andrew McCutchen in 2016.
At. No. 18, Bobby Witt Jr.’s jersey debut is the first for a Kansas Royals player since four players made the list in 2016.
The most popular player jerseys at the beginning of the 2025 season “also highlight the impact of baseball's young stars, with five players age 26-or-younger and more than half the list being 30-or-younger,” said MLB.
