Special to NYSportsJournalism.com

July 5, 2016: It's not Copa America or UEFA Euro 2016, but for many people the result is just as dramatic.

EA Sports has named its Final Four players vying for the cover of FIFA 17: James Rodriguez of Real Madrid C.F., Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC or Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund.

One of these men will win this crown, base on voting by people now thru July 19 via a dedicated Web site as well as social media.

According to EA Sports, the four cover contenders are also global ambassadors for FIFA 17 and worked with EA Sports to "influence gameplay and bring innovation to the way players think and move, physically interact with opponents, take set pieces and use new techniques in attack."

The voting is being supported by a multi-media campaign, including a 60-second spot, "Your Cover. Your Call." Internet and social media at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The winner will be unveiled later this month on the FIFA 17 voting Web site.

“James, Martial, Hazard and Reus represent exciting, attacking football and epitomize the innovative play that fans can expect in FIFA 17,” Nick Channon, senior producer for EA Sports FIFA, said in a statement. “We’re excited to see fans rally around their favorite players and see who they select as the cover star for the franchise, and the footballer who will represent FIFA 17 globally.”

“We’re excited to see fans rally around their favorite players and see who they select as the cover star . . . who will represent FIFA 17 globally."

EA Sports FIFA 17 is scheduled for release in North America on Sept. 27 and worldwide on Sept. 29 on Origin for PC, Xbox One from Microsoft, PlayStation3 and Playstation4 and Xbox 360.

People can find the game's new features at a dedicated Web site.

People can vote online once per day for their favorite player and earn extra votes by "utilizing the auto-share feature with the hashtag #FIFA17CoverReward," according to EA Sports.

People can also show their support by tweeting with the athlete’s hashtag: #FIFA17Hazard, #FIFA17James, #FIFA17Martial or #FIFA17Reus.
