ESPN Unveils Sponsor Roster For 2019 ESPYs To Benefit The V Foundation

Capital One, Cadillac, Coors Light, Dove Men+Care, eBay, Gatorade, Hotels.com and MassMutual are among the partners that will help bring ESPN’s 2019 ESPY Awards to life on July 10 from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The partner making the most impact: The V Foundation for Cancer Research, founded in 1993 by ESPN and Jim Valvano, former head basketball coach for North Carolina State University, who passed away in April of that year.

Capital One returns as presenting sponsor of the show and will also award the Capital One Cup.

The Cup is presented annually at The ESPYS to the nation’s best men’s and women’s Division I college athletic programs in the country.

The programs also receive a combined $400,000 in student-athlete scholarships.

First-time associate sponsor MassMutual will present the Pat Tillman Award for Service, which will be givento former U.S. Marine Kirstie Ennis.

Cadillac will present the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, being given to Bill Russell, Boston Celtics legend and NBA Hall of Famer.

The Jimmy V Award for Perseverance is being presented to Rob Mendez, head coach of the junior varsity team at Prospect High School, Saratoga, Calif.

Among other activation, Century 21 sponsors the Best Breakthrough Athlete Award and Red Carpet Sky Cam, Dove Men+Care presents the Sports Humanitarian of the Year and Gatorade sponsors the Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year program recognizing the nation’s most elite high school athletes.

Coors Light is the presenter of the official ESPYS Post Party and Hotels.com will have an interview with Captain Obvious on the red carpet.

Sponsorship benefits and hospitality opportunities include various media components across ESPN platforms, including ESPN, ESPN.com, the ESPN app and ESPN across social platforms.

Sponsors also participate in the ESPYS Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Capital One, benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

ESPN and eBay's ESPYs Auction Benefitting the V Foundation items includes more than 80 celebrity experiences now available on eBay through July 10.

“Every year the ESPYs Auction significantly contributes to and supports the critical work being done through the V Foundation,” Kevin Martinez, ESPN vp-corporate citizenship, said via the company.

“With the generous support of sports fans, employees, and partners we are close to reaching the major milestone of helping to raise over 100 million dollars for cancer research and we need your help to get there.”

They include include a UFC Ultimate Fan Experience, plus Private Meet & Greet with Dana White; Pitch Lunch with Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban; announce a selection at the 2020 NFL Draft in Las Vegas; appear in a This is SportsCenter commercial; attend the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of SkyWalker; and an invitation of Jennifer Lopez’ birthday party.

“Together with our annual ESPN collaboration, we’re able to offer entertainment and sports fans one-of-kind experiences they can’t find anywhere else and support the V Foundation’s mission to achieve victory over cancer.”

Since 1993, the V Foundation has funded more than $225 million in cancer research grants nationwide.

ESPN will provide three hours of pre-show coverage live from Los Angeles beginning with ESPYs Red Carpet Live on ESPN2 (5 PM ET), then on ESPN (from 6 PM ET).

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan will host.
