ESPN: Women’s 2022 March Madness Tourney, Final Four Ad Inventory Sold Out

February 22, 2022: Calling it “one of the most highly anticipated events in collegiate athletics,” Disney Advertising said today that ad inventory for the NCAA Div. I Women’s Basketball March Madness Tournament is “officially sold out.”

Disney Advertising said the Tournament broadcast includes 14 sponsors and 22 advertisers across a variety of categories.

The Tournament will air across ESPN networks beginning March 16, with the Final Four in Target Center, Minneapolis on April 1 and the Championship Game on April 3.

Selection Sunday is March 13 on ESPN (8 PM ET).

The women’s Tournament expands this year from 64 to 68 teams.

ESPN has been the exclusive home of the NCAA Div. I Women’s Basketball Tournament since 1996.

Last year, ESPN enhanced its commitment to the event by making every women’s NCAA Tournament game available on a full national basis and putting select games on ABC for the first time.

Sponsors for the Tournament include adidas, Buick, Capital One, CarMax, Champion, Cooper Tires, Invesco, Nissan, Orgain, Principal Financial Group, Sirius XM, Target, Unilever and Werner Ladder.

The 22 advertisers that will appear throughout the Tournament include adidas, Apple, AT&T, Credit Karma, General Motors, Golden Corral, Indeed, Invesco, Jersey Mike’s, Merk, National Automotive Parts Association, Nissan, Orgain, Quicken Loans, Subway, Taco Bell, Target, T-Mobile, Unilever, Wendy’s, Whirlpool and Workday.

“ESPN is dedicated to amplifying women in sports, and we are looking forward to this year’s NCAA DI Women’s Basketball Tournament,” Sean Hanrahan, svp-sports brand solutions, said via Disney Advertising.

“We are excited to see that our sponsors and advertisers have really leaned into our commitment to diversity in athletics and have flocked to these offerings.”

Capital One returns as presenting sponsor, with numerous feature integrations throughout the telecast including Starting Lineup features, Rewarding Performance features and the Women’s Tournament Challenge.

On-site in Minneapolis, Capital One will be presenting sponsor for Tourney Town, a free fan-fest that Includes sport activations, games, pep rallies, appearances by the participating team bands, cheer squads and mascots and merchandise.

This year, Unilever has joined as the Halftime Entitlement Sponsor.

Target will sponsor alternate camera angles throughout the Women’s Final Four broadcasts in Target Center, Minneapolis, April 1 and and National Championship game April 3.

Following the National Championship game, Werner Ladder will sponsor the net-cutting ceremony during the postgame show.

Also on-site in Minneapolis, Beyond The Baseline presented by AT&T will on providing professional development opportunities through a mix of women-centric panel discussions, networking, social events and one-on-one interactions with coaches, administrators, professional athletes, business leaders and fans.

:Party on the Plaza presented by Buick will be.free pre-game event outside of Target Center including food/beverages, merchandise  and music, games.

Additional ESPN feature integrations throughout the tournament will be sponsored by adidas, Buick, CarMax, Champion, Cooper Tires, Invesco, Nissan, Orgain, Principal Financial Group, and Sirius XM.

The First Four games are scheduled to be played March 16 -17 at four of the Top 16 host sites.

First- and second-round games will be played March 18-21, at the Top 16 seeds.
 
Regional games will be played March 25-28.

Greensboro (NC) Coliseum) and Spokane (WA) Veterans Memorial Arena) host regional semifinal and final games on March 25 and March 27.

Bridgeport, (CT) Webster Bank Arena) Wichita, (KS) InTrust Bank Arena will host March 26 and March 28.

Official NCAA Corporate Champions include AT&T, Capital One and Coca-Cola.

NCAA Corporate Partners include Aflac, Buffalo Wild Wings, GM’s Buick, Geico, Great Clips, Invesco, LG, Marriott Bonvoy, Nabisco, Nissan, Pizza Hut, Resse’s, Unilever and Wendy’s.
