Foot Locker Puts Artists, Rapper LGP Qua In Spotlight For Nike Air Max Plus Campaign

April 17, 2018: Foot Locker is well-known for its marketing campaigns featuring NBA stars.

The brand’s new campaign, "Before and After the Bite,” stars known and up-and-coming artists and musicians and celebrates “art and all those who create it.”

The campaign supports the launch of Nike Air Max Plus silhouettes in two colorways, "Before the Bite" (grey and white) and "After the Bite" (red and white),

As explained by Patrick Walsh, vp-marketing for Foot Locker North America, in a statement. ”At Foot Locker, not only are we dedicated to providing the best footwear and apparel to our customers, but we're also passionate about individuality — our shoppers' ambitions, dreams and talents.

"We are introducing these exclusive Nike Air Max Plus colorways by celebrating people (who) embody the grind as they push to make their mark 'Before the Bite,' and those that continue to feed their appetite for more once they have made it, 'After the Bite.'"

Foot Locker has enlisted three renowned artists and photographers — 13th Witness (Timothy McGurr), MADSTEEZ (Mark Paul Deren) and Baron Von Fancy (Gordon Stevenson).

They, in turn, culled 20 up-and-coming artists from the U.S. and Canada to create works that represent the two new shoes.

The selected artwork will be displayed in a Foot Locker "Before and After the Bite" Gallery in New York City’s Soho districk (67 Greene Street, open to the public on April 18, Noon-5 PM ET).

In addition, as part of the campaign, Foot Locker and Nike enlisted 18-year-old Philadelphia-based rapper LGP Qua to create a video, “Hungry,”  featuring an original track  that “uncovers LGP Qua's personal take on his road to success.”

Among the lyrics:
“Those broke days I can tell you all about it
“I started off with nothing at the end it’s gonna be worth it
“I feel blessed at the same time I feel stressed.”

LGP Qua recently was signed by (Black Eyed Peas) to his Music Group.

"This partnership with Foot Locker to tell the 'Before and After the Bite' story was a natural opportunity for me because it's so true to where I'm at in my own career,"  LGP Qua said in a statement.

"This is really just the beginning for me. I've had my first bite at success and that's only made me grind harder for more. My track, 'Hungry' shows what individual hustle and style means to me as an artist."
