Fox Sports 'Perfect 10' Docu: Rare Group To Win Heisman, Enter Pro Football Hall

August 30, 2022: Comparing it to the “greatest clubhouse in football history,” Fox Sports Films said today it has acquired rights from Hall of Fame Village Media to the sports documentary, The Perfect 10.
The film focuses on the only ten athletes to have accomplished what is considered to be among the rarest dual accomplishments in pro sports: winning the Heisman Trophy and being enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
According to Fox Sports, “The accomplishment is so rare that more men have walked on the Moon (12).”
The Perfect 10 includes interviews with, shows rare footage of and brings together for the first time seven of the ten players who have accomplished the feat: Marcus Allen, Tim Brown, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Barry Sanders, Roger Staubach and Charles Woodson.
The other three are Paul Hornung (who passed away in 2020), Doak Walker (who passed away in 1998) and O.J. Simpson (no reason given for his absence from the production).
The first two to accomplish the feat were Simpson and Staubach, both Hall of Fame Class of 1985.
Fox Sports — which has released a promo spot — said it would co-produce the film in partnership with Hall of Fame Village Media, H2H Productions, NFL Films and Tim Brown.
“We began talking about telling this story of this rare accomplishment over four years ago so we can find a way to create a legacy off the field, greater or equal to than the one we accomplished on the field,” said Brown via Fox Sports.
“At that time there were only nine of us until Charles Woodson was enshrined in 2021, and The Perfect 10 was born.”
The documentary is scheduled to premiere concurrent with NFL Honors during the week of Super Bowl LVII this February, which will air on Fox.
It is directed by Steve Trout, four-time Emmy winner and senior producer and director, NFL Films.
