Jim France Stepping Down As ISC CEO

April 14, 2009: International Speedway Corp. said that Jim France would step down as CEO, effective June 1, 2009, but would will remain chairman of the board of directors in a non-executive capacity. France, the son of Nascar founder Bill France, has been with ISC for more than 50 years, the last six years as CEO. Lesa France Kennedy, Bill France's niece and currently ISC president, will become CEO and retain the title of vice chair. In addition, Roger VanDerSnick, currently svp-marketing and business operations, will become evp and COO. "These changes follow the company's plan of succession that has been in place for quite some time," Jim France said in a statement. "Working closely with the board, I look forward to continuing to provide key oversight and support to a strong management team that has shown careful and sound judgment on both strategic and operational matters . . . I think it is important in light of the current economic environment to note that these collective executive changes will not result in any increase in ISC's total annualized executive compensation expenses." ISC, which currently promotes more than 100 racing events annually as well as numerous other motorsports-related activities, owns and/or operates 13 of the nation's major motorsports entertainment facilities, including Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500. ISC also owns Americrown Service, which provides catering services, food and beverage concessions, and produces and markets motorsports-related merchandise.
