Garnett Ready To Lead Celtics' Playoff Push

April 18, 2009: Kevin Garnett will not be on the court on April 18 when the Boston Celtics open the defense of their NBA title against the Chicago Bulls, but he will be rooting from the bench and his presence will be felt in every seat. Garnett his taken his marketing deal with adidas to every fan in TD Banknorth Garden by overseeing the placement of Celtics' green T-shirts emblazoned with the phrase, "Boston is a Brotherhood," a slight variation of adidas' "Basketball is a Brotherhood." Celtics' fans also should get a boost from the news that general manager Danny Ainge, who suffered a minor heart attack earlier this week is expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday (April 19). He could make an appearance a TD Banknorth Garden on April 20 for Game 2 of the opening round playoffs. Garnett' is expected to miss the entire first round and his status will be reevaluated if the Celtics advance. Back to Home Page
