Harden Takes On (Almost) All Challenges In Foot Locker's Twitter Campaign

September 25, 2015: James Harden is not afraid to take on opponents in the NBA and, based on a past ad campaign, not afraid to take on amateur ballers who via Internet submissions challenged Harden to recreate their most outrageous shots in a game of H*O*R*S*E.

Now, the all-star guard for the Houston Rockets is taking on all-comers in a game of "Play My Tweet."

The social media activation, under the auspices of Foot Locker, is asking people to submit personal requests to Harden via Twitter.

Foot Locker will select the best tweets from among those submitted, which each will then be printed on basketballs.

Harden will then shoot hoops using those basketballs. According to Foot Locker,  "If he makes the shot, he's safe — but if he misses it, he must fulfill the request."

In a supporting spot, Harden offers to do anything that is legitimate, but there is one line he won't cross: Don't ask him to shave off his trademark beard.

Each shot's difficulty level will correspond to the size of the request.

Among the early suggestions already submitted on Twitter @Footlocker using the hash tag #PlayMyTweet:

• "Challenge Riley Curry to a Nae Nae dance-off."

• "Come to one of my high school basketball games."

• "Hold a mini-camp at our school."

• "Donate time and money to cancer research."

The challenge is scheduled to go down in Houston on Oct. 8 beginning at 7 PM (ET). People can watch via Foot Locker's YouTube channel or Twitter page. (Details here.)
