• Manchester United has signed a multi-year deal with Marriott International, with multi-platform marketing including access to on-field & player experiences for 120M members of the Marriott BonVoy travel program.

• PepsiCo is acquiring the CytoSport supplements brand from Hormel, which includes the Muscle Milk line.

• MLS Los Angeles Galaxy has signed a deal naming Mescal El Silencio, a specially crafted mezcal label based in Los Angeles, as an official partner for the team and its venue, Dignity Health Sports Park. The alliance, being called the first mescal deal for a pro sports team, includes a Mezcaleria El Silencio bar on the main concourse.

• MLS FC Dallas has signed a pact naming Heineken as the official import beer for the club and Toyota Stadium. The alliance also make Heineken USA a founding partner for the National Soccer Hall of Fame, which recently opened in Toyota Stadium.

• Lisa Borders, who in October resigned from her position as president for the WNBA to become president and CEO for Time’s Up, has now resigned from that position, citing family situations.

StubHub NFL Sales Show Cowboys (Home & Away), Eagles, Niners Hottest Tickets

August 24, 2018: It doesn’t matter whether they are home in the confines of AT&T Stadium or playing on the road, the Dallas Cowboys are StubHub's most in-demand NFL team for the fifth year, based on ticket sales at StubHub.

On the road, StubHub said it sees an increase of nearly 300% in sales over the average when the Cowboys are the visiting team.

“The Cowboys are an iconic franchise with a reputation that continues to draw a crowd season after season,” Scott Jablonski, StubHub’s GM for NFL, NBA & NHL, said in a statement.

The Green Bay Packers are No. 2 for ticket demand at home in Lambeau Field, followed by the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.

The 49ers, Panthers, Seahawks, and Rams were not among StubHub’s Top Ten last season.

The Eagles moved up to No. 3 in StubHub ticket sales from No. 9 the previous two seasons thanks in part to their victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, according to StubHub’s 2018 NFL Preview.

The Eagles also have the No. 1 in-demand game heading into the 2018 season, the London game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 28.

According to StubHub, this is the first time an international series game has appeared in its Top Ten most in-demand games based on ticket sales.

For that game, 37% of sales is coming from the state of Pennsylvania — which StiubHub said is the highest amount of sales from a U.S. state for an NFL London game it has ever seen.

The Eagles-Jaguars U.K. game is driving 10% more sales than Cowboys at Panthers Sept. 6, the No. 2 most in-demand game on StubHub to date for the 2018 season.

According to StubHub, demand for the NFL London series is up 40% from this time last year with one less game being played. Buyers from 35 different countries have purchased tickets for the three games so far.

StubHub said demand on its site for the NFL games in London is up 333% over the past five years. 

The game with the highest average ticket price at StubHub, however is the Packers at the Patriots on Nov. 4, with an average of $700.

No. 2 on that list is the Atlanta Falcons at the Eagles on Sept. 6, with an average ticket prices of $428 on StubHub.

However, the 49ers had the biggest gain among NFL teams based on StubHub tickers, moving up to No. 6 from No. 19 last season after finishing the 2017 campaign with five consecutive wins behind new quarterback Jimmy Garappolo.

The Niners were ranked as high as No. 2 in 2014.

Also on the move were the Rams, jumping up to No. 10 from No. 21 last season.

In 2016, the team’s first season in relocating back to Los Angeles from St. Louis, the team was No. 8 in StubHub ticket sales. In 2015 and 2014, the franchise’s last two seasons in St. Louis, they were ranked No. 27 and No. 25, respectively, by StubHub.

The top trending NFL teams based on percentage increase in StubHub ticket sales since 2014 are lead by the Jaguars, which have experienced a 381% increase over that period.

The Top Five also includes the Niners (85%), Rams (84%), Eagles (53%) and New York Jets (51%).

The 2018 Preview coincides with StubHub’s first season as the “NFL Authorized Ticket Resale Marketplace” meaning StubHub is directly integrated with all 32 NFL teams for people to buy and sell tickets.

Also new this year, StubHub is working with eBay data analysts to find the top-trending fantasy players, “demonstrating which players are generating the most fan gear sales.”

Based on eBay sales from the past six months, four of the top five players are running backs, led by New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley.

“NFL fans are eager to show their support for top rookies, regardless of the demand the team may be driving,” according to Sam Bright, vp-soft goods, North America for eBay.

“Even though the Giants didn’t break the top ten in StubHub’s rankings, the excitement for Saquon Barkley is undeniable as we’ve seen remarkably strong demand since he was drafted in the first round by the Giants in April.”

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott  is No. 2, followed by Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints), Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs, Odell Beckham Jr, (Giants), Todd Gurley (Rams), Leonard Fournette (Jaguars), Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers), Christian McCaffrey (Panthers) and Rob Gronkowski (Patriots).

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers on Sept. 9  is the most in-demand season opener, outselling the next highest opener, the Eagles hosting the Falcons on Sept. 6 on Thursday Night Fooball on NBC, by 6%.

Green Bay hosting the Chicago Bears on Sept. 9 in the Packers home opener is No. 3.

The Top Five home openers based on StubHub ticket sales also includes the Minnesota Vikings hosting the 49ers on Sept. 9 in U.S. Bank Stadium and the Patriots host the Houston Texans in Gillette Stadium that same day.
