HP, Office Depot Team For Tour, Sweeps Eyeing 2011 NBA All-Star Game

April 29, 2010: HP, Office Depot and the NBA have teamed up to unveil the “Make The Smart Play Sweepstakes”, a national retail tour and promotion featuring the grand prize of an all-expenses paid trip for four to the 2011 NBA All-Star in Los Angeles.

The tour, which began this week in Miami and runs through June, will also give fans and consumers the opportunity to meet former NBA stars such as Glen Rice, Tim Hardaway, PJ Brown, Nick Anderson and Rolando Blackman.

In addition to the 2011 All-Star trip, the promotion is offering such prizes as an HP TouchSmart computer, HP wireless printer, $2,500 in Office Depot gift cards for an office makeover and NBA game tickets. At each Office Depot stop, fans and consumers can have their photo taken with the former NBA player making an appearance and also with the NBA Larry O’Brien Championship trophy, which is on the tour. (Full details here).

Support includes POP and a dedicated Web site. Former Miami Heat greats Glen Rice and Tim Hardaway appeared at Office Depot stores in Miami this week. The next scheduled stop is April 30 in Orlando with former Orlando Magic forward Nick Anderson. In May, players and stops include PJ Brown (May 7, Harvey, LA); May 11-13 in Houston (players to be named), Rolando Blackman in Dallas (May 17), and final dates June 3-5 in California (players to be named).

To enter the “Make The Smart Play Sweepstakes,” fans and consumers can visit their local Office Depot store and/or visiting the Web site now through June 5 and register for a chance to win. In addition to registering for the sweepstakes, visitors to the Web site can create their own NBA-themed HP Avatar "complete with customizable, authentic NBA uniforms that will reflect users’ unique style."
