Hyundai Unveils Multi-Platform Activation Heading Toward Super Bowl LIII

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

December 3, 2018: To the surprise of almost no one, Hyundai, the official car and SUV of the NFL, has unveiled plan to activate before and during Super Bowl LIII this February, including TV spots on CBS prior to and in-game on CBS.

This marks the brands 11t Super Bowl presence in the past 12 years.

Hyundai said it has scheduled a 60-second spot during the first quarter and a 30-second pre-game spot.

The company will also have experiential marketing activations in Atlanta, site of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in which the game will be played.

Kia, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz car companies also have added their names to the list of Super Bowl LIII advertisers.

Cost for a 30-second spot will average more than $5 million, as they did during Super Bowl LII.

Hyundai said its Super Bowl advertising campaign is “currently under development by its agency of record, InnoceanWorldwide.”

The company said it has had great response to prior Super Bowl campaigns, including "Hope Detector” during Super Bowl LII, which “resulted in more than 26.7 million views across various platforms”; and "Operation Better," a 90-second documentary that ran in 2017 after Super Bowl LI and “was viewed more than 74 million times across various channels.”

Hyundai, which has been an official NFL sponsor since 2015, also has deals with the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers.
