Johnsonville Sausage Cooks Up Pigskin Fantasy Challenge With Best Buy

August 24, 2010: Johnsonville Sausage, Best Buy and Athlon Sports are teaming for a football challenge that offers the ultimate "man cave" prize of HD TVs, surround sound systems and other electronic goodies.

Now through Jan. 2, 2011, consumers can enter the "Rush for 2,000 Yards Challenge" fantasy football game at www.Johnsonville.com. Each week, participants will have the opportunity to select one NFL running back (whom they have not selected in a prior week), and that running back's yards for the week become their yards. The goal is to have the most rushing yards each week and to have the most cumulative yards at the end of the season.

According to Sheboygan Falls. Wisc.-based Johnsonville, the grand prize will be offered in the form of a $4,000 Best Buy gift card, and the the winner "will have the opportunity to select specific prize elements purchased with the gift card." Weekly prizes also will be offered. (Full details here.)

Football information on the Web site is being provided by media company Athlon Sports, which also is promoting the challenge on its Web site. Johnsonville is also providing tips and recipes "to help make the football viewing experience better than ever this year."  Content on the game's Web site will be updated on a regularly basis.

"Johnsonville Sausage and football season go hand-in-hand, whether you're tailgating in the stadium parking lot or enjoying the week's rivalries from the comfort of your family room," Chris O'Toole, brand manager for Johnsonville Sausage, said in a statement.  "We're excited to provide football fans and consumers another exciting way to enjoy the season and get in on the action through the 'Rush for 2,000 Yards Challenge.'"
