Although Dethroned, LeBron, Lakers Claim NBA Best-Selling Jersey, Merchandise

July 14, 2021: LeBron James and the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers did not make it out of the first round of the 2020-21 playoffs, but James and the Lakers finished atop elsewhere, claiming the best-selling NBA jersey and top-selling team merchandise, respectively.
Results are based on NBAStore.com sales during the second half of the season, March 11-July 13. Sales figures were not released.
James and the Lakers have held the No. 1 spots since figures released at the end of the 2018-19 season showed James having the best-selling jersey in his first season with the Lakers and the Lakers with the No. 1 most-popular team merchandise.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, now leading the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals, was No. 2 in jersey sales, up from No. 5 during the first half of the season and “tied for his highest jersey ranking ever,” according to the NBA.
The Top Five on the most recent jersey list also includes No. 3. Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets), No. 4. Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks) and 5. Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).
The Nets have three players in the Top Ten jersey list with Durant, Kyrie Irving (No. 8) and James Harden (No. 9).
NBA finalists Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker at No. 6 earned his highest jersey ranking and moved zip 12 spots from the first half sales figures.
The Top Five on the Team Merchandise list also includes the Nets, Suns, Bucks and Chicago Bulls.
