LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers Lead NBA Sales; Durant, Brooklyn Close Behind

March 11, 2021: In what might be a preview of the NBA Finals, LeBron James tops the list of jersey sales and the Los Angeles Lakers lead team merchandise sale for the First Half of the 2020-21 season, while the Brooklyn Nets have three players in the Top 10 of jersey sales and are second in team sales.
For the Nets, the No. 2 position on the team merchandise list marks the franchise’s highest ranking, according to the NBA and National Basketball Players Assn.
Results are based on NBAStore.com sales for the First Half of the 2020-21 NBA season. Actual sales figures were not disclosed.
James and the Lakers also led jersey and team merch sales, respectively, at the end of the 2019-20 season, which concluded in the “bubble” of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World, Orlando.
Kevin Durant was No. 3 overall in jersey sales, with teammates Kyrie Irving at No. 5 and James Harden — who was traded to Brooklyn from the Houston Rockets on Jan. 21 — at No. 9.
The Top Five in jersey sales also includes No. 2 Luka Dončić, (Dallas Mavericks), No. 4 Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and No. 5 Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks).
There are 12 different teams represented among the Top 15 jersey sales.
James’ teammate, Anthony Davis, who was No. 3 in jersey sales in the year-end 2019-20 list, was No. 7 on the new list.
Zion Williamson (No. 10) of the New Orleans Pelicans made the Top 10 in jersey sales for the first time.
Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks (No. 14) made his debut on the jersey list (No. 14).
