LG, Best Buy Sign On For EA Sports National College Football '10 Tour

October 5, 2010: Even as Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ohio State vie for top position in the college football polls and season-ending trips to Bowl games, students at universities nationwide are vying for a trip to the Rose Bowl as part of the LG Presents EA Sports 2010 NCAA Football Challenge Tour.

LG Electronics USA, an official corporate partner of the NCAA, has joined with Best Buy and EA Sports to bring a customized 28-foot mobile exhibit to campuses and Best Buy locations now through early January. The exhibit includes LG Infinia HDTVs, a full LG kitchen, multiple videogaming stations where competitors can face off in EA Sports' NCAA Football 11 and viewing booths with access to scores and highlights from rivalry games across the country.

Tournaments will be held at each university, with one student winner from each school earning a trip to the contest finals at the 2011 Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Jan. 1, 2011 to compete at the finals for a grand prize of $10,000.

Marketing support includes Internet, with Facebook playing a significant role, POP and on-campus activation. Scheduled university stops include Cal-Berkeley, SMU, Tennessee, Central Florida, LSU, Auburn and North Carolina, as well as the SEC championship game in Atlanta on Dec. 4 before concluding at the Rose Bowl. The tour began Oct-1-2 at UCLA.

In addition, consumers can vote for their favorite team each week during the tour either online or via text message. (Full details here.)
