August 4, 2014: Johnny Manziel, who has been making news both on and off the field as a rookie quarterback for the NFL's Cleveland Browns, has signed a new deal that should add to his national profile.
Manziel has inked a multi-year pact with performance-lifestyle sports nutrition company MusclePharm to represent the company in marketing, promotions and other activations.
Financial terms of the agreement were not revealed.
Manziel, aka Johnny Football, joins a MusclePharm roster that includes Colin Kaepernick, Tiger Woods, Eric Decker and Arnold Schwarzenegger. MusclePharm is also the official supplement provider of Ultimate Fighting Championship and USA Wrestling.
Woods' deal began July 1 and includes title sponsorship of his golf bag.
"I'm proud to join a lineup of competitive athletes from around the world who know MusclePharm as the top sports nutrition innovator and industry leader," Manziel said in a statement. "Top athletes know that MusclePharm has what they need to perform at their very best."
Manziel also has endorsement deals that include Nike, McDonald's. Snickers and Panini America.
MusclePharm did not specify how they would feature Manziel in marketing.

Manziel is currently in Browns training camp competing for the team's starting quarterback position. he could see his first official action in an NFL uniform on Saturday (Aug. 9), when Cleveland plays its first pre-season game, facing the Detroit Lions.
