August 5, 2014: The NFL has started its run to Super Bowl XLIX this February in Arizona with pre-season games, but as they say in the trenches, it ain't real until it's real.
The league begins its 95th season in earnest on Sept. 4 when defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers, and a plethora of NFL partners are in place to support the effort.
"NFL Kickoff Presented by Xbox" will air on NBC's Football Night in America. In addition to presenting sponsor Microsoft's Xbox, top-tier sponsors for the NFL's Kickoff platform include Bud Light, Bridgestone, GMC, Lenovo, Snickers, Pepsi, Verizon and Visa.
The presenting sponsorship is part of Microsoft's platform entering its second season as an official NFL partner to blitz the league and fans with technology, Xbox enhancements, fantasy football interaction and lot's of marketing. (See the full story here.)
A live 60-minute pre-game show will be simulcast on NBC and NFL Network, and will also be available via NFL Mobile from Verizon.
Entertainment includes Grammy Award-winning singer, song-writer and producer Pharrell Williams performing live outside of CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
Seattle-natives Soundgarden will begin the event with a live performance, with a portion of the broadcast live on NFL Network.
Ariana Grande is scheduled to sing the national anthem for the game. No word if Iggy Azalea would make a guest appearance.
