Minor League Baseball Enters New Category With National Licensing Deal

April 24, 2014: Minor League Baseball, which oversees some 240 teams nationwide and internationally, has signed a deal with Boxercraft which MiLB said is the its first in the loungewear category and one "that appeals to consumers of all ages."

Financial terms of the pact were not released.

Boxercraft, a leading company in the design, manufacture and distribution of casual, imprintable and licensed apparel, said it would create a "variety of adult and youth loungewear including men’s, women’s and youth styles" for MiLB fans and consumers in the U.S.

Merchandise will be sold at MiLB retail and team stores at participating ballparks across the country, as well as through e-commerce.

“Any time we can give our fans another way to show their enthusiasm for their favorite MiLB team, it’s a win,” Sandra Hebert, director of licensing for MilB, said in a statement. “The loungewear category is a new area for MiLB Licensing, but one that appeals to consumers of all ages. We’re happy to be associated with such a strong brand in this category just in time for summer baseball.”

Among the lines available will be V.I.P. Flannel Pant, Team Flannel Pant, Fashion Flannel Pant, Classic Flannel Pant, Flannel Bitty Boxer and the Classic Flannel Boxer, all in men’s, women’s and youth styles. Signature Cotton Boxer, V.I.P. Cotton Pant, Cool Comfort Pant and the Cotton Bitty Boxer will be available in adult styles only.
