• Saturday’s Wimbledon Ladies’ Championship on ESPN earned a 2.1 overnight rating, up 27% from a 1.7 in 2017 (Garbine Muguruza vs. Venus Williams).  It was ESPN’s highest since 2015 (2.2 for Serena Williams vs. Muguruza).

• Mitsubishi Motors deal to become title sponsor for college football's (Dec 12 on ABC). The game was presented by in '16, but had no sponsor in '17. Currently played in Sam Boyd Stadium, it will move to the new venue, now under construction, in '20.

MLB, Marketing Partners Unwrap Plans For All-Star Game FanFest Activation

Now that the starting line-ups for the 2018 MLB All-Star Game are in, league marketing partners are ready to focus on one of All-Star Week’s biggest events in Washington DC: the Geico All-Star FanFest.

The Geico All-Star FanFest will be held in Walter E. Washington Convention Center, scheduled for July 13-17.

Among MLB partners that will have activation and a presence are 5-hour Energy, Arm & Hammer, Budweiser, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Doosan, Franklin (batting globes), MasterCard, Mitel, MLB Network, Nathan’s Famous, New Era, Old Dominion Freight, OxiClean, Papa John’s, Rawlings (baseballs), Scotts, Snapple, Sony,  SuperCuts, Tiffany and Topps.

There also will be a major showcase from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, auctions conducted by Hunt Auctions, a pin-trading center; and areas featuring, respectively, The Negro Leagues, World Baseball Classic and the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

Washington DC will also be well-presented, including a Hometown Heroes section (a collection of memorabilia and artifacts from the former Washington Senators and Nationals' histories) and by the local chapter of Kindervision (a non-profit community service organization aimed to teach children, teens and young adults' personal safety education).

Topps will have a roster of activation on-site, including exclusive wrapper redemption cards, the 2018 Topps All-Star Game Baseball Complete Sets, prizes such as Topps cards and hobby boxes, Make Your Own Card with the 2018 design, Pack Wars and Batter Up from Topps Bunt.

Available now online, are the 2018 Topps NOW National League and American League All Star Card Team Set, featuring eight starters from each league ($29.99 each), 2018 Tpoos NOW National League All Star Team Autograph Set ($119.99 ) and the 2018 Topps NOW American League All Star Team Autograph Set ($199.99).
