MLB Season-Long Multi-Platform Campaign Encourages Fans To ‘Enjoy The Show’

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

April 6, 2022:
Now that Opening Day has finally arrived (on April 7), MLB has unveiled “Enjoy The Show,” a multi-platform effort that will evolve throughout the 2022 season intended to remind fans and others about the experiences of attending MLB games

An anchor spot, "Enjoy The Park, Enjoy The Show," sees players in action, including Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, interspersed with people at their local parks playing baseball, as well as MLB traditions such as mascots, vendors, fans and food.

A voice over says, “There is something about a park. The swings, The slides. The dogs (hot dogs and real dogs). You can throw your food and wear it, proudly. It’s where showing off is encouraged, even if it doesn’t always work out."

Ohtani then asks, "So . . . are you in.”

Text reads: “Enjoy the fun. Enjoy the park. Enjoy the show.”

The tag — also a nod to the video game MLB The Show — will morph into numerous phrases: Enjoy the victories, Enjoy the Sho (as in Shohei Ohtani) and others.

This and following spots will air across MLB media partners, in-stadium and on digital and social media platforms

MLB said it would have its 30 clubs adopt the tagline to highlight games, players and storylines in their respective area throughout the 2022 season.

MLB has also transformed “Enjoy the Show” into a ten-city road trip that has been visiting neighborhood parks in cities including  Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Miami, New York, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Washington D.C..

As part of the New York leg of the tour, “Enjoy The Show” is scheduled to have a presence April 7 outside MLB headquarters (Avenue of the Americas between 50th and 51st Streets).

“The whole purpose of the campaign is just to build awareness for the season,” Karin Timpone, MLB’s evp and CMO, told MLB.com. “It's exciting to be able to do that.”
