• The Oakland Raiders, playing their last season in the Bay Area before a planned move to Las Vegas for the 2020 NFL season, said they have signed a deal with AEG Facilities to operate their $2 billion, 65,000-seat stadium, now under construction. Full story here.

• SAP has launched “Call the Shots,” an interactive, online game that puts people in the shoes of Wimbledon champ Angelique Kerber the day before a big match. Players use SAP Tennis Analytics to get Kerber match-ready, by using data and insights to make decisions that will help – or potentially hurt – her success on the court the next day.

• FIBA, the international governing body for basketball, said the annual FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final would be held in Los Angeles 2020-23 in partnership with the Los Angeles Times media group. ‘This will undoubtedly cement the FIBA 3x3 culture in the build up to the Los Angeles 2028 Games,” said Andreas Zagklis, FIBA secretary general. 

• The IOC said that breaking (break-dancing), skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing have been provisionally included on the sports program for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing will make their debut on the Olympic program in Tokyo 2020.

• Pete Frates and Pat Quinn, co-founders of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, have launched with The ALS Assn. the 5th anniversary of “Challenge Me” with a “new call to action to reignite the passion and generosity of the millions of people who dumped ice water on their heads in the summer of 2014.”

M&M’s Sweetens Nascar Raceday Experience With VIP ‘Glampground’ Deal

In an effort to bring fans closer to the action while offering VIP amenities, M&M’s has unveiled the M&M’s Glampground, a ”first-of-its-kind, all-inclusive glamping experience” that will provide Nascar race fans at Kentucky Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway with what was called an “unforgettable weekend.’

Located in a private area in the infield at each venue, the M&M'S Glampground will provide a “turnkey, VIP option” for people looking to experience the race in a unique way.

Being offered for $500 for two (while inventory lasts), the Glampground includes 12’ x 14’ “glamourous” camping tents (choice of one queen bed or two singles); bathrooms with private showers; breakfast, lunch and dinner catered by local restaurants; activities throughout the weekend, including garage and pit tours, tailgate games and movies; and Wi-Fi access.

Glampground reservations for the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart at Kentucky Speedway, scheduled for July 13, have begun. (Details here.)

M&M’s said Glamping packages for the Bristol Motor Speedway (Aug. 7) M&M’s Glampground would be available later this summer.

Also part of the package: private garage tours and visits from M&M’s Racing team members such as Kyle Busch.

Nascar offers: “Space is limited, and at $500 per tent, will go fast!”

One restriction: M&M’s said, “To keep this an M&M'S fan-friendly experience, each tent has a carry-in limit of one 24 pack of beer.”

"We are delighted to unveil the M&M’s Glampground, the first ever sponsor-branded luxury camping experience at a Nascar race that we know all fans of M&M’s  and Nascar are going to love," Allison Miazga-Bedrick, brand director, M&M’s, said via the "official chocolate of Nascar."

"This is going to be a race experience like no other and we look forward to welcoming both returning and new race fans to the Glampground in Kentucky and Bristol. We encourage all fans to get their tickets now, with the experiences we have to offer they aren't going to hang around for long."

Among the other amenities for the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart at Kentucky Speedway:

• Two Kentucky Speedway Bluegrass Club weekend tickets

• Two Cold Passes for access to the Kentucky Speedway garage

• One FanVision and two headsets, allowing people to listen to race and driver communication.

According to Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry. “M&M’s always does so much for the fans, but if I wasn't racing, I'd probably book myself a spot in the M&M’s Glampground.”
