Nascar, Mobil 1 Rev Consumer-Generated Ad Campaign

July 15, 2009: How do you save some money during tough economic times? Put a call out to consumers to do your advertising for you, basically for free. Mobil 1 is launching the “Show Your Mobil 1” challenge, which invites consumers, and racing fans in particular, to create a 30-second TV spot expressing the "strong connection between Nascar and Mobil , the official motor oil of the motor sport. The winning spot will air nationally during a 2010 Nascar Sprint Cup Series event.
A dedicated site, www.ShowYourMobil1.com, has been created to explain details, rules and show samples. From Aug. 1 – 31, visitors may upload their 30-second videos after following details at the site. Between Sept. 1 – 13, a panel of judges will review eligible submissions and then select five finalists. Voting on the site will take place Sept. 14 – Nov. 15. Anyone who registers is able to vote. The winner will be announced in late November. In addition to airing the winning TV spot, the grand-prize winner a flat-screen TV and a viewing party catered for 15 friends to watch the spot air live. Other prizes are being awarded throughout the event.
This marks the seventh consecutive year in which Mobil 1 is the official motor oil of Nascar, and the Mobil brand of lubricant products are the official lubricants of Nascar. Back to Home Page
