"It is rare to be in the presence of guys from the greatest team in NBA history. So, we're pretty lucky, because we've one of those players in the house today — Steve Kerr from the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls." — President Obama on Thursday honoring the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors but singling out head coach Steve Kerr. This was Kerr's fourth trip to the White House as an NBA champ, having been there twice with the Bulls and once with the San Antonio Spurs

NBA Campaign Anticipates 'Amazing' Playoffs

March 16, 2009: The NBA is going back to the future with a series of spots, filmed in black-and-white, featuring post-season highlights of current and past stars in anticipation of the upcoming playoffs. The effort, “Where Will Amazing Happen This Year?”, plays off the NBA's "Where Amazing Happens" umbrella campaign and will run across all league partners, including ESPN, TNT and ABC, ESPN and TNT, as well as NBA TV. Spots also will hit online sites such as YouTube, Hulu, Facebook and MySpace. Spend for the effort was not disclosed. Lead agency is Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, working with NBA Entertainment. The first spot, which launched March 15, shows LeBron James from the 2008 playoffs dribbling through the Boston Celtics defense and dunking over Kevin Garnett. Other spots will feature Dwyane Wade, Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson. Updated spots will include highlights from games in the current playoffs, and also will feature such legends as Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. The NBA playoffs begin April 18. Back to Home Page
