Anyway You Slice It, Nets Promo With Domino's Delivers To Fans

February 17, 2010: The NBA's Nets may not be delivering on the court, with a league-worst 5-48 entering a home game on Feb. 17. But the team continues to deliver promotions to its fans. The latest effort will see the Nets team with Domino's Pizza for an opportunity to have a fan get a pizza delivered to their home by a player, who will be accompanied by Sly, the Nets' mascot, and members of the Nets Dancers.

Now through March 1, 2010, fans in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area can enter the Nets' "Special Delivery Sweepstakes" at www.NJnets.com/specialdelivery. In addition, customers who order from Domino’s Pizza from now until March 1 will receive information directing them to the sweepstakes online. (Official rules are here.)

The grand prize winner will receive the pizza delivery in March by a player to be determined by the Nets. The promotion also supports Domino’s Inspired New Pizza, which features new sauce, cheese and garlic-seasoned crust.

Earlier this season, the team offered free tickets to a game to help break an 0-10 start (the Nets lost that game) and among other promotions has a ticket plan that includes reversible jerseys with opposing player uniforms on one side.

“We continue to deliver on our goal to be the most accessible team in sports,” Brett Yormark, Nets CEO, said in a statement. “We appreciate our alliance with Domino’s Pizza and look forward to a great future together.”

As Dave Melton, Domino’s Franchisee in New York, put it, “What’s more exciting than getting a knock on the door by someone from your favorite basketball team?”

Although struggling on the court, the franchise is moving ahead with plans to build Barclays Arena in Brooklyn and relocate from New Jersey during the 2011-12 season.
