With 100 Days To Super Bowl LIII, NFL, Atlanta Committee Step Up Activation

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

October 26, 2018:
Super Bowl LIII is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2019, in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Today (Oct. 26) marked 100 days out until the Big Game, which the NFL and the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee used as a jump-off point to unveil a plethora of marketing, events and other activation.

Verizon has been named presenting sponsor for Super Bowl Live, Atlanta-based Grammy award-winning producer Jermaine Dupri as the event’s music producer and On Location Experiences and their production company, Kreate “to develop the concept and production for Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon.”

Super Bowl LIII Live — a festival featuring live music, food and interactive entertainment free and open to the public — will take place in Atlanta’s Centennial Park, Jan. 26-Feb. 2.

As presenting sponsor, Verizon will have a visible brand presence around Super Bowl Live’s Verizon stage and private VIP area. In addition, Verizon will have additional activation space for fan engagement showcasing Verizon UP, the company’s customer rewards program.

Version was also the presenting partner for Super Bowl Live this past February at Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.

“Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon is an opportunity to celebrate and embrace Atlanta’s vibrant culture and renowned music scene,” Brett Daniels, COO for the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee,, said via the organization.

“We are thrilled to have the legendary Jermaine Dupri as our music producer for the free event in Centennial Olympic Park. His involvement will curate a special week of musical acts creating lasting memories for Atlanta residents and visiting fans during the days leading up to Super Bowl LIII.”

Dupri, an Atlanta native, is currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of his record label, So So Def Records.

His involvement in Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon will include securing talent and producing the evening concerts across various genres.

“Since I’ve entered the music scene, I’ve always had concerns with how people view the city of Atlanta, both musically and overall,” Dupri, who has worked with such artists as Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Usher and Ludacris, said via the Atlanta Host Committee.

“It’s an incredible place to be, and I am always thinking of ways to make that view better. I feel it’s my duty as the Unauthorized Mayor to help Super Bowl Live create the best Welcome to Atlanta experience for the fans ever!!”

Super Bowl LIII will also be the official start of a year-long series of events and activation celebrating the NFL’s 100th season, with marketing, specific sponsorships and programs to be unveiled.

The Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee already unveiled that it has partnered with On Location Experiences, the official hospitality partner of the NFL, to develop local events surrounding Super Bowl LIII.

Last year, in partnership with the Minnesota Host Committee, OLE produced the Super Bowl Live festival in Minneapolis. More than one million people attended, according to OLE.

According to John Collins, CEO for On Location Experiences, “We are providing more opportunities for fans to participate in the full week of Super Bowl events in a variety of different ways.

Whether it is strolling through Super Bowl Live in Centennial Park or joining On Location through its VIP hospitality packages, there is a chance for everyone in Atlanta and beyond to join in on the excitement Super Bowl Sunday brings.”

“Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon is an opportunity to celebrate and embrace Atlanta’s vibrant culture and renowned music scene."

OLE’s brand ambassador is Emmitt Smith, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys.

OLE’s 2019 NFL Legends roster includes Derrick Brooks, Tim Brown, Terrell Davis, Warrick Dunn, Franco Harris, Devin Hester, Steve Largent, Ronnie Lott, Jonathan Ogden, Orlando Pace, Andre Reed, Joe Theismann, Thurman Thomas, Hines Ward, Aeneas Williams and Rod Woodson.

The Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee said that additional details on Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon and the talent and activations would be unveiled in the coming weeks.
