Leaving Las Vegas: Reimagined NFL Pro Bowl Games ’24 Returning To Orlando

July 25, 2023: After two years in Las Vegas, the NFL said today that Orlando’s Camping World Stadium would host the 2024 Pro Bowl Games presented by Verizon, scheduled for Feb. 4, 2024.
The NFL Pro Bowl was held in Camping World Stadium from 2017 (following the 2016 season) through 2020 (following the 2019 season).
The 2022 and 2023 Pro Bowl Games presented by Verizon were held in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, which this season will host Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, 2024.
The Pro Bowl was not held in-person in 2021 due to COVID-19 precautions.
The NFL reimagined the Pro Bowl last season as The Pro Bowl Games, introducing a format that included a mix of live and taped skills competitions and anchored by an AFC vs NFC flag game played by Pro Bowl players replacing the traditional game.
The NFL said the 2024 Pro Bowl Games would feature events across Central Florida, including “fan experiences that will celebrate the football season and bring fans close to their favorite clubs and players.”
It will air on ESPN and ABC (3 PM ET).
“Building off the success from last year's reinvented format that elevated flag football and introduced fun forms of competition and entertainment, we are thrilled to bring the 2024 Pro Bowl Games to Orlando," Peter O’Reilly, NFL evp-club business and league events, said via the league.
“Hosting multiple Pro Bowls in years past, Orlando is a world-class destination and a favorite getaway for our players and their families, and we look forward to working with the city of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports to create the ultimate all-star celebration for players, their families and our fans."
According to the NFL, the 2023 Pro Bowl Games AFC vs NFC flag game played by Pro Bowl players in Las Vegas totaled 6.4 million viewers across Disney, ESPN, ABC, Disney XD and digital, up 16% from the previous year.
The skills challenges on Thursday averaged 1.06 million viewers on ESPN in prime time, up 23% for the program the year before, and social video views from Sunday's event were up more than 16% from the previous year.
Peyton Manning and Eli Manning will return as head coaches.
Attendance in Allegiant Stadium for the AFC vs NFC flag game was 58,331, the most for the Pro Bowl since 2017 (60,834 in Camping World).
The NFL said the Pro Bowl Games would continue to highlight its "strategic priority" behind the growth of flag football.
The league said it would will integrate the sport throughout the week in partnership with RCX Sports, the NFL's flag football operating partner, and the International Federation of American Football,

“We've received overwhelming support from the players on flag football at The Pro Bowl Games. NFL players and Legends are proud to get behind the sport, using the all-star event as a major platform to make this statement."
For broadcasting and programming The 2024 Pro Bowl Games, the NFL will work with the Disney family of ESPN and ABC, Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions.

The NFL Pro Bowl dates back to 1938, but was not played from 1943-1950.
From 1951-1972 and then again in 1979 it was held in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
It was held in Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium from 1980-2015 except for 2010 (Miami’s then Sun Life Stadium, now Hard Rock Stadium) and 2015 (in the then University of Phoenix Stadium, now State Farm Stadium).
