NFL, Partners Ready To Rock The U.K. At The '09 Pepsi Max International Series

October 19, 2009: The NFL and its International Series marketing partners, including lead sponsor Pepsi Max, are ramping up for the Oct. 25 game with a tailgate party that will include beer, food, memorabilia and a 3D cinema featuring NFL highlights.

The tailgate party begins the morning of Oct. 25 at the Palace of Industry, located outside of Wembley Stadium, site of the 2009 Pepsi Max International Series game between the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sponsors include Coors Light, Cannon, Chevrolet, Reebok, Visa and Marriott in addition to Pepsi Max, each of which will be represented at the event via consumer booths, experiential marketing, giveaways or exclusive promotions.

There will be two Reebok Merchandise locations, one with goods from the AFC, the other containing merchandise for the 16 NFC teams. There also will be a selection of balls, mini-helmets and a variety of other 2009 Pepsi Max International Series special merchandise.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will be on-site with several historical NFL items, including the Vince Lombardi Trophy given to the winner of every Super Bowl, all 43 Super Bowl rings, the jersey that Brett Favre wore when breaking the NFL's consecutive games played record, a Joe Montana Super Bowl MVP football and John Elway's helmet from the 1996 season.

An NFL 3D cinema with seating for 500 will loop highlights of such games as the Patriots' Super Bowl XXXVIII win over the Carolina Panthers and the 2008 game between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers.

The NFL said that its 2008 party was such a success that it has doubled the number of serving points offering "authentic American food and drink," including Coors Light, Pepsi Max and Gatorade. The league is also advising fans that all merchandise, food and drink outlets at the NFL Tailgate Party will accept only Visa cards or cash.

Tampa Bay's cheerleaders look forward to rockin' the U.K.Among pre-game events, Elton John will serve as honorary captain for the Patriots and Joe Calzaghe, Britain's only undefeated world champion boxer, and U.K TV personality Vernon Kay will serve that role for the Buccaneers. Pre-game entertainment includes  singer Calvin Harris and Katherine Jenkins, who will perform "God Save The Queen" before the teams kick off. Also appearing at the event will be cheerleaders from both the Buccaneers and Patriots, who will perform on stage prior to taking their places on the field.
