NHL Gaming World Championship Adds To Roster Of Marketers For 2019 Finals

As a testament to its growing popularity, adidas, Astro Gaming, Brisk, Great Clips and MGM Resorts will join returning sponsors Honda, Scotiabank and EA Sports for the second NHL Gaming World Championship regionals and Finals in May and June.

Regional finals are scheduled for this month, with the 2019 NHL Gaming World Championship Final scheduled for June 30 in Las Vegas.

Marketers will have on-site activation as well as presence across NHL Gaming World Championship media partners, including Twitch.TV/NHL, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and NHL.com/gaming.

The 2019 NHL Gaming World Champion will offer a $100,000 cash prize pool, including $50,000 for the winner.

In addition, the champion will be featured during the broadcast of the 2019 NHL Awards presented by Bridgestone.

A 30-minute pregame show, The GWC Lobby, will debut ahead of the European Final.

The GWC Lobby will “introduce and profile competitors, outline the gameplay schedule, break down player strategy, and check in with the players as they warm up their hands for competition.”

The GWC Lobby is hosted in partnership with Great Clips, Honda and MGM Resorts International.

Among the onsite activation:

• adidas, the official outfitter of the NHL Gaming World Championship, will provide outfitting for finalists, including exclusive gamer jackets and adidas caps for each Live Regional Final.
• Astro Gaming, the official controller (or headset/headphones), will be supplying the official C40 TR Controller, Astro A40 TR Headset and MixAmp Pro TR used within gameplay across the Regional tournaments and World Final.

• Brisk, an iced tea soft drink produced via a joint venture between the Pepsi-Lipton Company and Unilever. will offer competitors refreshments at the Canadian Regional and World Final.
• North American partner Great Clips will host the Friends and Family Cheering Zone and be on-site to provide complimentary haircuts and stylings to participants and talent at the U.S. Regional and World Final.
• Returning for the second consecutive year as a North American partner, Honda will sponsor the “Road to the Finals” interview area, checking in with the gamers before, during and after each phase of competition across all phases of the Tournament.
• Scotiabank returns as an official Canadian partner, this year hosting a dedicated Fan Vote during the Canadian Regional live-stream that will award one of the competitors and a fan with a chance to serve as a guest of Scotiabank at the World Final in Las Vegas.
• As the official resort destination of the NHL, MGM Resorts will host the World Final at Allied Esports’ HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas inside The Luxor.
The schedule for Live Regional Finals (subject to change):

• May 18: European Live Regional Final Viasat Studios Stockholm
• May 25: Canadian Live Regional Final Sportsnet Studios Toronto
• May  30: United States Live Regional Final NBC Studios Stamford, Conn.
• June 30: 2019 NHL Gaming World Championship Final Esports Arena, Luxor Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
