June 16, 2009: Alex Ovechkin could not lead the Washington Capitals to the NHL Stanley Cup, finals but he did earn the 2K Sports cover for NHL 2K10. Developed by Visual Concepts, NHL 2K10 will be available this fall for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PlayStation2. Ovechkin, who was named the league's MVP for the second consecutive season, will appear in marketing to support the videogame's release. 2K Sports is a division of 2K, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, New York. "It's a good time to be Ovi!," Ovechkin, who has led the NHL in goals scored for the past two seasons, said in a statement. "It's an incredible honor, and I look forward to working with 2K Sports to make NHL 2K10 the most fun and amazing hockey videogame experience ever. I can't wait to put some of my moves in there."
