Bass Pro Shops Marketing Exec Swims Over To The Pep Boys

May 13, 2009: The Pep Boys (Manny, Moe & Jack), one of nation's leading automotive aftermarket service and retail chains, said that Ronald Stoupa has been named vp-marketing. Stoupa will oversee the company’s marketing, advertising and branding. He most recently served as director of brand marketing for Bass Pro Shops, where he was responsible for the creation and direction of the company’s brand marketing department. “We are pleased to bring Ron on board as part of the Pep Boys team,” Scott Webb, svp-merchandising and marketing at The Pep Boys, Philadelphia, said in a statement. “His strong background in retail consumer marketing and brand building will help us continue to create improved strategies for reaching our customers and leveraging our iconic 88-year-old brand.” The Pep Boys operates more than 550 stores in 35 states and Puerto Rico.
