The Suns And The Stars: Phoenix To Host 2027 NBA All-Star Game, Events

March 7, 2024: Calling it an event that would “showcase Phoenix’s love of everything basketball,” the NBA today said that Phoenix’ Footprint Center would host the 2027 All-Star Game and festivities.
The 76th NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 21, 2027, hosted by the Suns. This will mark the city’s fourth NBA All-Star, joining the 25th NBA All-Star Game in 1975, 1995 and 2009.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver unveiled the decision during a media conference in Footprint Center, joined by Suns chairman Mat Ishbia and Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs.
There was a recorded message from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego.
“Our NBA All-Star festivities in 2027 will showcase Phoenix’s love of everything basketball,” said Silver. “And we couldn’t be more excited to work with Mat Ishbia and the entire Suns organization for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of our sport.”
Footprint Center is also the site for the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star festivities, hosted by the Mercury. That will be the last game before the WNBA takes a break until Aug. 16 for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Awarding the event comes about a year and a half after the NBA fined then Suns owner Robert Server $10 million and suspended him for a year when an independent investigation found Server had used the “N-word” several times in public; and that there was also "unequal treatment of female employees, sex-related statements and conduct and harsh treatment of employees that on occasion constituted bullying."
Server sold the team (as well as the WNBA Phoenix Mercury) in late December 2022 for $4 billion to United Wholesale Mortgage CEO Mat Ishbia and his brother Justin Ishiba, which became official on Feb, 7, 2023.
“Mat has made his mark on this community quickly,” Silver said during the media event. “It’s been about a year since Mat became (chairman) of the team, and one of the first things he said to me was, ‘How soon can we get the All-Star Game back here?’”
NBA All-Star on-court events will begin Feb. 19 in Footprint Center with NBA Rising Stars, an annual showcase for top rookies and second-year NBA players.
On Feb. 20, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the Kia Skills Challenge, the Starry 3-Point Challenge and AT&T Slam Dunk.
The NBA will also host several events at venues throughout Phoenix, including NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T, the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and an NBA All-Star fan fest, featuring basketball programming and entertainment as well as up-close access to NBA players, legends and celebrities.
The league said it would also “continue to celebrate its commitment to social responsibility” with a full schedule of NBA Cares events during NBA All-Star 2027.

NBA All-Star 2025 is scheduled for San Francisco Feb. 14-16, 2025. The 74th All-Star game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 in Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.
NBA All-Star 2026 is scheduled for Los Angeles Feb. 13-15, 2026. The 75th All-Star game will be played Feb. 15 in the Intuit Dome, the new home of the LA Clippers.
