At The 2010 World Series Of Poker, (Energy) Drinks, Cocktail Mixers Are 'On The House'

June 1, 2010: Playing poker is not just about chips. Sometimes it is about drinks — in this case a new line of World Series of Poker-branded line of energy shots and cocktail mixers from Earth Beverages.

The World Series of Poker Energy Shots and World Series of Poker Energy-Infused Cocktail Mixers are being unveiled to coincide with the 2010 World Series of Poker tournament from now through July 17 in Las Vegas. The two lines were created in partnership with Harrah's and the World Series of Poker, according to Don Mann, CMO for Earth Beverages, the drinks' brand licensee. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Earth Beverages said support would include experiential marketing and social media sites such as Twitter.

"The shots and mixers will bring gaming players the focus and edge they need to stay sharp and partygoers a great-tasting energized version of their favorite cocktail to extend their afternoon or evening fun," Mann said in a statement. "The vibe of Vegas and the exploding popularity of the World Series of Poker, online and on TV, brings a level of excitement the energy drink space has been missing — it's a natural fit."

WSOP cocktail mixersThe Poker Energy Shots, which come in 3 oz. containers that resemble a stack of poker chips, come in eight flavors: Cranberry, Pomegranate, Citrus, Blueberry, Lime, Orange, Cola and Tropical. The Energy-Infused Cocktail Mixers, packaged in one-liter bottles, include Mai Tai, Mango, Piña Colada, Sweet & Sour, Citrus, Pomegranate, Cranberry, Sour Apple and Strawberry.

According to Mann, "People who prefer popular cocktails, like Margaritas, Mojitos and Bloody Marys, will now have the ability to enjoy great-tasting energized versions of their favorite drink. With 12 blended mixes, these aren't just the one-energy-flavor-fits-all drink that's become typical in bars and clubs now."

The Poker Player's Championship will be covered by ESPN on July 27, the first of its weekly Tuesday night telecasts that will run through Nov. 9.
