Albert Pujols' Secret Revealed: OhYeah! Nutrition Products

August 7, 2009: Opposing pitchers might now know the secret to Albert Pujols' success: The reigning NL MVP and all-star first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals has signed a deal to endorse OhYeah! nutrition bars and shakes, described as a line of products that benefit "consumers who wish to eat healthy without sacrificing satiety and taste." Financial terms were not disclosed.

The OhYeah! brand was launched in 2004 by ISS Research. Charlotte, N.C., which has been developing sports nutrition products since 1998. “We are truly excited about having Albert as part of the OhYeah! team," ISS president Ron McAfee Jr. said in a statement. "His commitment to performance and results resonates well with the attributes of the OhYeah!® brand."

Among other achievements this season, Pujols has hit five grand slam home runs to tie a National League record set by Ernie Banks in 1955. He currently earns about $4-6 million a year in endorsements from Nike as such deals as the "Call Your Shot" player during the State Farm Home Run Derby in St. Louis during the All-Star Game.

"These products offer a convenient, on-the-go source of nutrition that taste outstanding, and meet my needs of muscle recovery, both during and after a game," Pujols said in a statement. Back to Home Page
