UFC's Ronda Rousey Selects Her Next Challenge: Marketing 'Taichi Panda'

July 21, 2015: Even as UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey trains for her next bout — against Bethe Correia in UFC 190, scheduled for Aug. 1 in Rio de Janeiro — the athlete known as the "most dangerous unarmed woman in the world" has selected to fight another opponent.

Snail Games USA, developer of  the "mobile hack 'n' slash dungeon crawler" Taichi Panda, has signed Pousey to be the game’s official spokesperson, to include multi-media marketing and other activations.

Financial terms of the alliance were not disclosed.

According to Rousey, “I got my start in Judo, and since I was little it’s really been a lifelong love affair with martial arts. It’s taken me amazing new places, and I’m really excited to now be working with a game that shares that passion."

Although specific details were not released, marketing with Rousey will include TV, Internet, mobile and social media, under the umbrella theme, "Unleash your inner fighter."

Snail Games USA, Los Angeles, described Taichi Panda as an action RPG for mobile "with strong influences from martial arts."

"We’re very excited to be working with Ms. Rousey," said Snail president Shi Hai in a statement. "We look to partner with individuals who share our appreciation of martial arts, old and new. For this, we feel she is a good fit."

"(This) new partnership is a really exciting step for me and for martial arts," said Rousey.

Rousey also has deals that include Reebok, Monster headphones, Metro PCS and Buffalo clothing and accessories.

Taichi Panda is available on App Store and Google Play.
