December 22, 2016: At the Summer Games in Rio de Janiero, Simone Biles was part of the gold medal-winning squad dubbed the "Final Five."
Although a total team player, she has become this year the Final One in sports marketing, with deals that include Procter & Gamble, Nike, Beats by Dre, Kellogg’s (Tour), Hershey’s, Mattress Firm, GK Elite Gymnastics (a signature line of workout apparel) and Spieth America (workout equipment).
Among her many honors, whe was named a Woman of the Year by Glamour magazine, the AP Female Sports Athlete of the Year and the 2016 Female Athlete of the Year by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).
She was named to espnW's 2016 IMPACT25 list of 25 "athletes and influencers who have made the biggest difference for women in sports this year" and was then named espnW’s Woman of the Year.
And she found time to write and do a PR tour for her book, Courage to Soar.
With her five medals in Rio — including four golds — she has a combined total of 19 Olympic and World Championship medals, and has become the most decorated American gymnast, surpassing Shannon Miller, who held the record since 1996.
Working with Octagon Olympics & Action Sports, she earns about $4 million from endorsements but has an unlimited potential, according to industry analysts.
Her social media numbers are just as strong: 2 million followers on Instagram, 874,000 followers on Twitter and 937,000 Likes on Facebook.

And to cap off her year, the 19-year-old appeared on the cover of ESPN Magazine along with Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross (now retired) and the Cleveland Cavaliers' J.R. Smith.
The alliance with Mattress Firm, as do some other of her endeavors, includes hands-on cause-marketing support. Having been raise in foster homes, she is particularly tuned in with the retailer's national Mattress Firm Foster Kids program to "help promote the importance of sleep, especially for children" and during the holidays the Mattress Firm Foster Kids Toy Drive.
