TD Bank, TD Ameritrade Bank On Special Olympics As Entertainment Presenters

March 24, 2014: Let the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games begin . . . soon, with more partners to enhance the event.

Coordinators of true Special Olympics USA Games, to be held this June, said that TD Bank and TD Ameritrade Holding Corp., longtime supporters of Special Olympics, would be the presenting partners of entertainment at the 2014 USA Games.

The 2014 USA Games are being held June 14-21 throughout Mercer County, New Jersey.
 
TD Bank and TD Ameritrade will sponsor entertainment throughout the Games with special performances at both Special Olympics Town and Corporate Park.

Located on the campus of The College of New Jersey, Special Olympics Town will have a New Jersey Boardwalk theme with rides, games and carnival fare.

Corporate Park, located at Mercer County Park and open to the community, will feature attractions, a rowing exhibition, concessions, spectator services information and lounges as well as interactive events each day presented by corporate partners of the 2014 USA Games.

The Special Olympics USA Games will be hosted by New Jersey from June 14-21, 2014.  Nearly 3,500 athletes will compete in 16 Olympic-style team and individual sports, with the support of 1,000 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and 70,000 family, friends and spectators.

Founding Partners for the 2014 Special Olympic USA Games include 21st Century Fox, Barnabas Health, HESS, KPMG, Prudential, PSE&G, ShopRite, Toys “R” Us and WWE.

"Together, we can create a vibrant, inclusive event that celebrates the accomplishments of these talented athletes as they work, one step at a time, toward achieving their dreams.”

“In addition to the stellar competition of the top Special Olympics athletes in the country in their 16 sports, the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games will also provide a fun and engaging environment for athletes, families and the overall community to learn about the mission of Special Olympics and celebrate their achievements,” TJ Nelligan, chairman and CEO of 2014 Special Olympics USA Games, said in a statement.

“The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games will truly be a memorable week for not only the athletes but all who attend and we are grateful to TD Bank’s and TD Ameritrade’s contributions in helping us keep the expected 70,000 families and spectators entertained," said Nelligan.

The 2014 USA Games will be staged throughout Mercer County, NJ including competitions at Princeton University, Rider University, The College of New Jersey and Mercer County Park, with the Opening Ceremony taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark.
