• Tony Wyllie has been named regional president and managing director for Special Olympics North America. Wyllie most recently was svp-communications for the NFL’s Washington Redskins since 2010. His three-decade career also includes PR/communications with the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams, Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans.

• The Los Angeles Clippers have signed a deal with Los Angeles-based tech firm Honey, which includes naming rights to team's renovated Honey Training Center: Home of the L.A. Clippers and its logo on team practice jerseys. According to Honey, "10 million-plus members worldwide use Honey's suite of free tools daily to save time and money when shopping online.”

• Washington Mystics forward-guard Elena Delle Donne has been named 2019 WNBA MVP.  It is the second MVP award for seven-year player, making her the first player in WNBA history to earn the honor with two different teams (2015 Chicago Sky).

• BMW Group Russia has signed a deal with tennis star Daniil Medvedev, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, who fell in five sets to Rafael Nadal in the recent U.S. Open Grand Slam finals. Medvedev, who will represent Russia in the inaugural ATP Cup tournament in Australia this January, will participate in various brand activities, including a BMW patch on his shirt, in Russia and worldwide .

• SoFi Stadium, which will be the new $6 billion home venue for the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Chargers beginning in 2020, will open July 25-26 with two Taylor Swift concerts.

• CBD edible company Bhang, Miami, has acquired Red Ace, a leading organic beverage company. Bhang plans to launch a Red Ace-branded line of CBD/terpene-style beverages and products, including functional sparkling beverages. Athlete ambassadors include Christian Ramirez, Russell Canouse and Kelyn Rowe (MLS) and Spencer Keiboom (Washington Nationals).

• The Paley Center for Media, NY, will honor the 100th season of the NFL with a new exhibit: "A Century of Football: Celebrating the NFL’s 100th Season," free and open to the public (Sept. 14-Oct. 27), which includes the first public screening of the only known complete broadcast of Super Bowl I (then known as the AFL-NFL World Championship Game) in January 1967 between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs

• Pete Frates and Pat Quinn, co-founders of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, have launched with The ALS Assn. the 5th anniversary of “Challenge Me” with a “new call to action to reignite the passion and generosity of the millions of people who dumped ice water on their heads in the summer of 2014.”

Tennis Channel Extends Exclusive Multi-Platform Deal With ATP World Tour

November 19, 2015: If you want to see Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer and Kei Nishikori in action on a regular basis, Tennis Channel is ready to fulfill your needs.

Tennis Channel, which televises events and covers all aspects of the sport year-round, said it has signed a multi-year deal to extend its alliance with the ATP World Tour, the governing body of men’s pro tennis, and its broadcast arm, ATP Media.

Financial terms of the deal were not shared.

Tennis Channel and the ATP World Tour have been aligned since 2003, the network’s first year on-air.

Tennis Channel said it would add to its live ATP coverage beginning in 2016, with exclusive TV and authenticated-digital rights for all but four of the Masters 1000- and 500-level events.

In 2015, Tennis Channel covered 22 events from February through November, which it said accounted for more than 600 live matches and 1,000-plus hours of tennis.

“We are delighted to renew our long-term partnership with Tennis Channel as they provide an outstanding service to the tennis fan in the U.S.,” Mark Webster, CEO for ATP Media, said in a statement. “Furthermore, we look forward to a superb collaboration to showcase the finest tennis players competing at the world’s most exciting venues.”

Tennis Channel’s new agreement secures the rights to all nine Masters 1000-level tournaments.

The 12 other tournaments under the extended partnership "represent almost the entire ATP World Tour 500-level slate,"according to Tennis Channel. (See list below.)

In addition, Tennis Channel said it would be "the only U.S. television network with digital coverage of these matches, via TV Everywhere authentication."

According to Jeremy Langer, vp-programming for Tennis Channel, “Tennis Channel has been the television home of men’s tennis for more than a decade, and our partnership with the ATP World Tour has continued to expand over those years."

Tennis Channel said that in 2015, audiences have been up by an average of 24% each week throughout the year, "one of the best in network history." It has some 35 million subscribers and hits about 55 million during Grand Slam events.

"Center Court, our Los Angeles-based studio coverage of the ATP and WTA tours, has been a key innovation leading to record-breaking viewership in the U.S. at a time when other networks are experiencing significant audience erosion," said Langer. "The ATP World Tour recognizes our contribution to the health of the sport and, working with them, we’re really looking forward to enhancing their brand with more Hall of Fame studio talent and expert analysis, and remaining the year-round source of the best televised tennis in the world.”
