TinCup Whiskey Seeks Adventurers For Trip To ‘Rugged Town' Of Tin Cup, Colorado

NYSJ Sports-Entertainment Business News Service

June 1, 2019:
If you’ve ever wanted to go trekking — or just hang out — in the “rugged town" of Tin Cup, Colo., located about 160 miles south west from Denver miles and at an elevation of 10,157 feet, this might be your opportunity.

TinCup Mountain Whiskey, named after the former mining town, has unveiled a multi-media campaign, “'Backcountry Adventure,” that includes TV, digital, social media, experiential activation and a contest offering “the most inspired adventure seekers the chance to win a mountain experience” in the town.

The 60-second TV spot and accompanying digital short film, “Where You Do It,” chronicles a mountain trek to nearly 14,000 feet led by adventurers Renan Ozturk, Sam Elias, Shayd Johnson, Nathaniel Atakora Martin, Isaac Johnston and Max Lowe.

A consumer photo contest is “aimed at those who seek to discover new territory with friends new and old.”

"The mountains give me inspiration and purpose, and I'm excited for people to get a glimpse of our epic adventure together at 13,437 ft. and hopefully be inspired to tackle a trip of their own," Ozturk, an expedition climber, landscape artist and filmmaker, said via TinCup Whiskey.

"Adventure, storytelling, and meaningful relationships are real values in my life — and whether you dream of summiting Everest or embarking on a hike, I'm proud to stand with TinCup to inspire more adventure."

People who are similarly inspired to join Jess Graber, founder of TinCup Whiskey; as well as Renan and his counterparts to “embark on an off-road excursion to the once lawless town of Tin Cup” this August are being directed for a chance to win by “sharing their most compelling mountain stories on Instagram or Twitter.”

Entrants must follow @tincupwhiskey and share a photo to their public account using #YourMountainAwaits and #Contest.

Submissions will be judged by TinCup’s team of adventurers. who will “look for the most unique and inspirational tales of adventure, friendship and the pursuit of the discovery.” (Details here.)

According to Graber, “We created TinCup in honor of the Colorado mining pioneers who explored the depths of the Rockies, chasing their days with whiskey from old tin cups.

”Creating this brand has been an adventure for me, and we're looking forward to sharing a true piece of Colorado's heritage with adventurers across the country."

The tagline for the TV spot: “Good friends. Great whiskey. The mountain is always worth the climb.”

In the spot, played out to the adventurers in action, a voiceover offers, “It’s more than who you are. It’s who you’re with. And it’s more than what you do. It’s where you do it. TinCup Mountain Whiskey.”

Lead agency is Dead As We Know It, Brooklyn, NY.
