November 9, 2021: Tom Brady, who just signed a multi-platform alliance with Hertz, is already front-and-center for the company’s move on Wall Street.
On July 1, 2021, Hertz emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which it had filed for on May 22, 2020.
Today, the company ceased trading under HTZZ on the OTC market and began trading on the larger Nasdaq Global Select Market under HTZ.
Hertz also said it was offering an IPO of "44,520,000 shares of its common stock (but) expects to repurchase from the underwriters 10,344,828 shares."
The moves arec oncurrent with the company unveiling plans to place an initial order of 100,000 Teslas by the end of 2022 and build a new EV charging infrastructure across the company's global operations.
According to the company, “Beginning in early November and expanding through year end, customers will be able to rent a Tesla Model 3 at Hertz airport and neighborhood locations in U.S. major markets and select cities in Europe.”
Brady touts this, and the Nasdaq move, in a new spot, which the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback shared via social media: “To the moooooon . . . Hertz, IPO, LETS GO!”
The spot opens with a retro clip from of a Hertz commercial from the 1960s, then cuts to Brady today.
“Leading the charge with the largest rental fleet of electric vehicles in North America,” Brady says. “And now, the big IPO. To the Moon! Still here, still changing the game.”
"Electric vehicles are now mainstream, and we've only just begun to see rising global demand and interest," Hertz interim CEO Mark Fields said via the company.
"The new Hertz is going to lead the way as a mobility company, starting with the largest EV rental fleet in North America and a commitment to grow our EV fleet and provide the best rental and recharging experience for leisure and business customers around the world."
Brady has already appeared in two other Hertz spots, “Plugged In” and “Let’s Go: Speed.”
"Hertz is changing the game when it comes to the future of mobility and has come through for me time and time again," Brady said via the car rental brand. "Although the company has been around for over 100 years, their constant evolution, especially now, is something that is amazing to be a part of.”
According to Brady, “I’ve been driving an EV for years and knowing Hertz is leading the way with their electric fleet speaks to how the world is changing and the way companies are approaching being environmentally and socially conscious.
“I’ve always loved how easy and convenient Hertz makes it for me when I'm traveling to my favorite places like New York, L.A. and Tampa and can't wait to see what they continue to have in store."
