What Plays In Vegas Won’t Stay In Vegas: Super Bowl LVIII In Allegiant Stadium

December 15, 2021: After decades of avoiding Las Vegas, the NFL now cannot spend enough time there.
The NFL confirmed today that Super Bowl LVIII to conclude the 2023 season would take place in Allegiant Stadium, the $2 billion, 65,000-seat home to the Raiders that opened for the 2020 campaign.
The game is scheduled for Feb. 11, 2024, and will air on CBS.
The NFL schedule also includes Allegiant Stadium as the host site for the 2022 Pro Bowl (Feb. 6) and 2022 NFL Draft (April 28-30).
"The Raiders are thrilled the National Football League has selected Las Vegas to host Super Bowl (58) LVIII in February 2024," Mark Davis, Raiders owner, said during a media conference.
"Hosting the 2022 Pro Bowl, the 2022 NFL Draft, and now the 2024 Super Bowl are just some of the ancillary benefits resulting from the public-private partnership we created with the state of Nevada to bring the Raiders to Las Vegas and build Allegiant Stadium.
“It’s a big day for the Raiders and for the city of Las Vegas. It’s a marriage made in heaven. We are really, really excited.”
The Caesars Superdome was initially named as host site for Super Bowl LVIII.
However, when the NFL this season expanded its schedule to 17 games, the extra week put the Super Bowl in conflict with Mardi Gras festivities.
New Orleans will now host Super Bowl LIX Feb. 9, 2025.
Super Bowl LVI is in SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles (Feb, 13, 2022).
Super Bowl LVII is in State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ (Feb. 12, 2023).
"Being named a Super Bowl host city is a defining moment in the history of Las Vegas," Steve Hill, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO and president, said via the organization. “An event of this magnitude combined with the energy of Las Vegas is going to be unmatched.”
According to the LVCVA, “With an estimated total economic impact of more than $500 million based on previous Super Bowls, Super Bowl LVIII will significantly benefit the greater Las Vegas area and the entire State of Nevada — through direct spending, additional tax dollar generation, increased room occupancy and job creation.”
“Our entire city is committed to making Super Bowl LVIII the most electrifying sports spectacle ever,” said Hill.
“The NFL has been an incredible partner, and we look forward to working with their team, the Host Committee and our partners across our destination to showcase Las Vegas as 'The Greatest Arena on Earth'."
According to Davis, “It's only the beginning. But for now . . . Las Vegas: The Super Bowl is coming to the sports and entertainment capital of the world!”
Not by coincidence, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has unveiled two ads, “Sidelines” and “One Game,” under its current sports campaign, “The Greatest Arena on Earth.”
The campaign “highlights Las Vegas as a destination unlike any other to watch and experience the thrill of live sports.”
In addition to the Raiders, Las Vegas is home to teams and events including the NHL Vegas Golden Knights, WNBA Las Vegas Aces, MiLB Las Vegas Aviators, the NBA Summer League and USA Basketball, Nascar, Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Professional Bull Riders, Rock ’n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon, Las Vegas Bowl, UFC and championship boxing.
The campaign launched in August with the first ad, also titled “The Greatest Arena on Earth.”
