The newly unveiled logo for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympics Games combines two iconic symbols associated with the Games – a gold medal and the Olympic torch – which combine to form an image of Marianne, a female figure representing the French Republic  This is the first time the Olympic logo will be shared with the Paralympic Games.

• The late golf icon Arnold Palmer will be commemorated with a Forever Stamp from the U.S. Postal Service in 2020. The stamp features James Drake's action photo of Palmer at the 1964 U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. Art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamp.

• Dr Teal's Epsom Salts has signed All Pro TE Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) and two-time defending Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams) to explain in marketing the “benefits of balancing rigorous workouts with regimented muscle recovery in order to achieve and maintain peak performance.”

• Sacramento, California's capital city, has been awarded an MLS expansion team with Sacramento Republic FC becoming the league's 29th team and beginning play in MLS in 2022. The club will build a new, $300 million, 20,100-seat soccer stadium in the downtown Railyards District. 

• The Professional Baseball Agreement between MLB and minor league teams expires at the end of the 2020 season. But if a new MLB proposal were to become reality, more than three dozen cities with affiliated minor league teams will lose those teams a year from now and thousands of minor league players will be out of work as well. Shiffrin, Kim, Knight, Lead 40 Team Visa Athletes Worldwide To Winter Olympics

September 20, 2017: With the 2018 Winter Olympics less than five months away (Feb. 9-25), marketers and sponsors have begun to unveil athletes whom they will support and who will represent them and their respective nations on the road to PyeongChang, South Korea.

Visa, one of 13 top-tier partners with the International Olympic Committee, has named more than 40 Olympians and Paralympians (March 8-18) from 17 countries to its roster.

Team Visa is lead by Mikaela Shiffrin (USA, alpine skiing), Chloe Kim (USA, snowboard), Hilary Knight (USA, ice hockey), Mark McMorris (Canada, snowboard), Gus Kenworthy (USA, freestyle skiing), Lee, Sang Hwa (South Korea, speed skating), Kamil Stoch (Poland, ski jumping) and Oksana Masters (USA, Para cross-country skiing & Para biathlon).

Visa said that all of the athletes on its roster "embody (our) values of acceptance, partnership and inclusion, with athletic talent matched equally by their character."

"We are excited to welcome all of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes to Team Visa and we think this roster is the perfect embodiment of what the Visa brand stands for, as these athletes push boundaries every day in everything they do," Chris Curtin, chief marketing innovation and brand officer for Visa Inc, said in a statement.

"Team Visa athletes remain at the heart of Visa and we are excited to cheer them on in their pursuit of Olympic and Paralympic Gold in PyeongChang."

Visa is planning multi-media marketing to support the Games and its athletes, but did not as yet share details.

Among Team Visa, Shiffrin made history at the 2014 Winter Games Sochi 2014 as the youngest American to win Olympic Gold in slalom; as a 13 year-old, Chloe (pictured) qualified for the 2014 Winter Games but by rule was too young to compete; Knight was a member of the U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey Team that won silver medals at Sochi 2014 and Vancouver in 2010; and Masters has three Paralympic medals (2 bronze, 1 silver) and is seeking to become the first U.S. athlete at the Olympic or Paralympic Winter Games to medal in biathlon.

Visa has been an Olympic partner for more than 30 years and a Paralympic partner since 2003.

The Team Visa program began in 2000 with the aim of "providing athletes with the tools, resources and support they need to achieve their lifelong dreams, both on and off the field of competition, regardless of their origin or background."

IOC partners also include Alibaba Group Atos, Bridgestone, Coca-Cola, Dow, GE, Intel, Omega, Panasonic, Procter & Gamble, Samsung and Toyota.
