Would You Bring Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Larry Jacobsen (?!) To Super Bowl XLV?

Visa commercials star four fans who have been to every Super Bowl, and who also plan to keep the streak alive to Super Bowl L.October 14, 2010: How important is the Super Bowl to fans and consumers in America? Very important, according to a new survey from Visa, which shows that more than 70% of respondents would miss their own birthday party and nearly 10% would miss the birth of their own child.

The survey comes as Visa has launched creative to support its "Super Bowl Trip for Life Sweepstakes," offering one grand prize winner and a guest airfare, accommodations and tickets to the Super Bowl for life. The prize package would kick in with Super Bowl XLV in North Texas on Feb. 6, 2011.

According to the survey, 54% of respondents would be willing to miss or postpone events in their life in order to attend the Super Bowl. Of those people, 77% said they would miss work or class, 71% would miss their own birthday party and 46% would postpone their vacation. In addition, 17% said they would postpone their wedding date and 9% would miss the birth of their child (given, of course, that they were not in the last stages of labor, of course).

Visa also found that 28% of respondents  would choose to go to the Super Bowl every year for the rest of their life over any other annual sporting event in the U.S., ahead of the World Series (16%) and the NBA Finals (14%). And if given the opportunity to take a guest, 22% said they would invite President Obama, followed followed by Sandra Bullock (21%) and George Clooney (15%).

According to Visa, the survey was conducted from Sept. 24-27, 2010, by Infogroup/Opinion Research via phone interviews with 1,013 adults (509 men, 504 women, all 18 or older).

In one spot, “Meet the Never Miss a Super Bowl Club,"  Tom Henschel (Tampa, Fla.), Don Crisman (Kennebunk, Maine), Robert Cook (Brown Deer, Wis.) and Larry Jacobsen (San Francisco) share their thoughts and emotions of having attended every single Super Bowl over the past 43 years. In "50 Super Bowls," they share they common goal to reach the half-century mark in attendance. The site of the historic Super Bowl L, scheduled for February 2016, will not be decided by the NFL until May 2012.

After Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium, the next games will be Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 at Lucas Oil Field, Indianapolis; Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans; Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey; and Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, the site of which will be decided in May 2011.

In addition to being the exclusive payment services sponsor of the NFL, Visa has become the exclusive payment services sponsor of 13 NFL teams: first-year deals with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans adding to Visa's roster that already includes the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers. For the second consecutive year, San Francisco-based Visa is also the sponsor of the 49ers' practice jersey.
